I’m guessing his team is looking forward to the Ugas-Barrios winner. Baby steps with this guy. Like tank he’ll never have a 50-50 fight. He’ll fight a Mikey Garcia like guy coming up in weight, drain another guy (plus likely slap a rehydration clause ontop), tell everyone they must come to pb- i mean showtime to fight him for peanuts.

Should be a great career. /sarcasm.

You mean he'll keep on waiting. And when will the winner be able to come back after the fight? Six months minimum?

I think Ruiz has been spoiled by the AJ fights. Now every bout has to be 7-8 figures or he's not interested. Same can be said for the likes of Thurman, Garcia and many more.

It’s hard to understand why the going is so slow. Ennis had a stellar amateur career, he should have landed in the pros at a run. Makes we wonder if maybe there’s a flaw I’m not seeing

It only applies if Spence fights Thurman, and at 154. It would be a hell of a lot more waiting to do for Ennis if he continues to focus on that IBF mandatory.

              - - Them Bootsies was made fer walkin' not fightin'.

Mgr ain't been able to sign him to a promoter of note, so he's mostly local instead of intercontinental or international.

The bottom line is that Ennis and Company should NOT hitch their wagon to Spence, given the crickets chirping since last year. As much as I like Spence and value him as an accomplished prizefighter and World champion, he's aging, he's doing nothing and the reasons and excuses seem to be mounting, ditto on any finger-pointing. Perhaps Ennis cannot find work. Perhaps Ennis should look to stay busy touching whatever willing fighters there are, be it at 147 or 154, the old school way. I simply feel their admission about his one fight last year, hoping that Spence/Crawford would get made and division progess would ensue, may still be the observed roadmap/schedule/strategy in place.

If you talk about activity, then you'll find lots of willing partners to dance with you. This "no one wants to fight you" story of yours becomes just a mere silly excuse and you got to be fooling yourself as a fan to believe such thing. 2nd, 3rd tier fighters are dying to get back in the ring to make money and believe me they'll fight a monster to earn cash. You really actually think guys like Butaev, Kavaliauskas, Cobbs, Barrios, etc. would say no to anything?

What is he waiting for this time now that Spence is fighting Crawford and the IBF belt is on the line for the undisputed fight?
Booty dew waiting for Spencerina to relinquish one of his 147 straps (possibly IBF) so he can be rewarded with a vacant title vs another low level bum.

So what's the update here, is Ennis still waiting for Spence to give up his IBF belt and hand it over to Boots? Any clarification for this?
