He was also a fighting genius, which i would also say Angelo and Enzo aren't as well. Bruce beat manybig names, so that does make him a fighter. Just because they weren't filmed don't mean you can bury your head in the sand and quote Tao of Bruce Lee. Silversamurai did you also read interviews with fighters who said they did spar with Bruce lee and beat them? How come you read interviews with Joe Lewis saying he didn't spar with Bruce, but you haven't read interview where famous fighters said bruce beat them. You are like Davis Miller with selective memory. Choosing to recall things that suit you, just like Davis Miller.
Joe Lewis didn't say Jack **** negative stuff about Bruce when he was alive, even when Bruce boasted he could beat anyone, and told Joe Lewis to his face that Bruce Lee was best. And Joe Lewis definiton of a fighter is not law. Sounds like sour g****s to me. Joe Lewis turned down the role in WOTD because Bruce lee was using it to show the superiority of the oriental martial artist. But i doubt Joe Lewis said he didnt want to get his butt by Bruce Lee on film personally.
Chuck Norris didn't want to be beaten on film until he realized it was Bruce Lee beating him. He said noone could beat him anyway.
The first question is, what big name fighters are you talking about? And what are your sources?
The second question is, name me some top fighters who said they sparred with Bruce and lost?
Bruce Lee told Joe Lewis to his face that he was the best? Again what are your sources for this information?

Joe Lewis: Bruce Lee told me that he wanted to prove to the world that the Chinese martial artists were superior to all the other races, the Koreans, the Japanese, and in particular, the Caucasians. At that time, no one knew that "Enter the Dragon" was going to become a major $300,000,000 mega film. My advisor's told me not to do martial arts films period.Bruce Lee was a five-foot, seven inch, 138 pound, non-combat type martial artist. I was strictly into combat and competition. I was almost six feet tall, 200 pounds. I didn't understand the point of why he wanted to ask me to allow him to beat me up in the film to prove this personal point of his. Of course, I wanted to do movies, but at that time and based on what my advisor's told me, it just didn't seem like a good idea to fulfill someone else's ego trip. In retrospect, by telling him no or just avoiding getting involved with his films, you might say it was a major mistake in my life. Of course, I have special memories about Bruce. He was very intelligent and very creative, two things which I enjoy. He thought in principle. He had a high abstract intelligence. That's a thing I admire most in people. He also enjoyed physical development and fitness, two things which I like. I won art contests as a kid, and he was also a fabulous artist and enjoyed philosophy, two things on which we were both extremely hooked.

Davis Miller - Of course Lee used these guys to develop and support his reputation. Those guys, not Bruce Lee, were the biggest names in the martial arts in the late 1960s. And Lee recruited them, not the reverse. None of those guys ever called Lee their teacher or "master." Lee said that of himself. Lee in effect said that he did not enter competition because it was basically beneath him. Those guys weren't good enough, and that such competion was not to be confused with real-world fighting. There is a truth in what he said. In 1971 and 1972, however, Bruce Lee gave interviews in Hong Kong in which he claimed to have thrown and/or given away all of the trophies and plaques he won in competition in the United States. He did not say this once to one person who misquoted him. He said it again and again. The truth, of course, is that he had never entered competition in the U.S. And he was never going to. It's my opinion that Lee was afraid to put it on the line against real guys he'd have to prove himself against. Who did Lee spar ever? Inosanto, who can't fight a lick; Ted Wong, who's less capable than Inosanto; Herb Jackson, who's also incapable, Dan Lee, who wasn't very good but who hurt Lee badly with a single shot, maybe a couple other geek kune doers. BUT NO ONE REAL. No Lewis, no Stone, no Gene Lebell, no amateur boxers or wrestlers, much less the likes of world champs of his own size and weight, much less the Alis, Fraziers and Foremans of the world, who have the juice in their shots to kill guys of Lee's size with a single punch.Last edited by Adamantium; 09-29-2009, 06:31 AM.

Bruce said his student Bob Bremner would have beat the crap out of Chuck Norris.
Silver, believe what you want to believe. Humans have proved they will anyway.

Joe Lewis said in an intervie in combat mag that bruce would tell him constantly if i say im the best you will think im boasting quote that is well known.
And no Dan Lee never hurt Lee with a punch. He landed a lucky punch. You see how haters try be spiteful. Davis Miller cant be trusted because we all know he is really a fan of Ali and not bruce. And hes sick of people saying Bruce would beat his idol Ali.

One the sidenote--most of Bruce Lee's training gravitated towards body, head attacks and never really used cut kicks seen in K1 or Muay Thai because most people wear shoes--so it would've been pointless other than what was referred to Joe Lewis in his book as obstruction kicks to keep opponents at a distance when Bruce Lee was training Lewis in the art of distancing.Last edited by rao007; 09-29-2009, 08:25 AM.

So because Bruce Lee says to Joe Lewis," im the best," that means its true?
How do you know Joe Lewis even took Bruce Lee's comments seriously?
Saying your the best and proving it are two whole different things.
You are going to have to quote me the interview so I can check it out.
My question to you is this, why did Bruce Lee and Joe Lewis fall out?
