I like how most of ya'll are commenting without reading the article.

      Let me help you:

"The transparency (request) is absolutely baffling,” Espinoza told FightHubTV. “He got that in black & white. I’ve seen the contract. It’s there in black & white. The reality is we collect the money, we do the accounting. You can’t do accounting without being transparent. It depends on what transparent means. To most it means I know what the revenues are, I know what the expenses are, I know what the deductions are, it’s all out in the open. That has never been an issue on this fight or any other fight that we’ve been involved with.

Here’s where it gets a little more complicated. I get the right to approve expenses. First of all, I have a problem with that because what’s going to happen when I tell you, ‘OK, this is what TV production costs,’ and you say, ‘No, I think it would be cheaper.’ So, wait a minute. Now, I can’t produce it? We’ve been doing this quite a while. I know what it costs. … We’re not going to go into a promotion and have the risk of someone saying to us, two weeks out, no I don’t like that contract, I’m not signing it. Or go into it and say we’re waiting for a fighter signature and I don’t know when he’s going to get around to viewing this expense and signing it. It’s just not a realistic way to do business.

Crawford isn't asking for transparency, he's asking for Haymon and Espinoza to delegate executive privilege to him. And as Espinoza says... that's not a realistic way to do business.

A Harvard grad (Haymon) and a Stanford grad (Espinoza) are going to hand over all say-so regarding the financials of the event to a guy who probably failed kindergarten?

Wow, Espinoza really? You made a case for Crawford being wary, you and the promotor must thing people are dumb all Bud was asking for was to see all the expenses, including the jacked up ones you guys would use to reduce his share.

Man, both of these guys are missing out on mega paychecks stalling it out. Who cares who loses? As long as the fight is entertaining, this will setup for a highly anticipated rematch which means MORE millions in the bank. Then guess what? The other guys wins, they have a TRILOGY! MORE MILLIONS in the bank.

Wtf is wrong with fighters these days and their mental in thinking about this stuff? Didn't they learn anything from HANS?!!!

A lot of people want to comment without reading the article. That is NOT the claim by Espinoza at all, they state the expenses would all be available, they claim Crawford wanted review and approval authority over their expenditures for the promotion of the fight.... if crawford wants that then it sounds like he needs to start his own promotion company.

You can argue if you think the claim is true or not but atleast read the article.

Behind closed doors.... Espinoza definitely does NOT want this fight and neither does Al Hayman. The fight is a threat to their business model and if the belts leave, they go to a free agent.... If Spence loses Espinoza is gone and the PBC business model falls apart. Doesn't matter what Errol, Terrance or the fans want it's not going to be allowed.

It's sucks but it's smart business for the PBC and the network.

Seams simple doesn't. Offer a moddest gaurantee and maybe up the split to 40% on Crawfords end?!?....But no, let's stick to an offer that that has never been accepted by a fighter or fight of this magnitude?

Crawford and Spence both want it because it's a massive payday.

Showtime, Arum, ESPN and the PBC are not gamblers, they are the Sony music of boxing, fights and fighters are just content to be 100% controlled. Espinoza will either force Crawford into the fold long term or continue to kill the fight by a thousand cuts.

Which was the reason why Team Duckford walked away from the talks and negotiations after demanding upfront money and financial transparency.
False.....Crawford walked out because of the transparency issue, not because of the zero gaurantee and the ridiculously short end of a split,at 35%. That he already agreed to which is unheard of. Did you want him to supply Haymon with the jar Vaseline as well?!?

Not Crawfords fault Haymon/PBC is broke and or Haymon has skeletons to hide.Crawford got tired of being walked/lead on for months and walked right on over to someone willing to pay him a gaurantee for a fight without a ridiculously structured offer. Simple stuff here. A bird in hand is worth two in the bush.....
