      • My only issue with those who say it wasnt all floyd is that if the PPV bombed, it certainly would have been all on floyd without a doubt.

Mayweather is a draw. No queston. But we need to notice the marketing and exposure on this fight. We need more of the following for Boxing to continue to resurge.

          1. Cross media marketing. Twitter / Blogs / Television including Major markets
          2. Good engaged sponsors.
          3. Better cards. This fight had a great card.
          4. Instant replay and strong oversight nationally.
          5. Get rid of or castrate the sanctioning groups. they do not help the sport or boxers they make a sport of it.
          6. Make sure the sport is not just on PPV or pay channels. If we can't get more ESPN style deals we need something like a hulu for boxing which would be funded by either ads or small monthly fee.

It is about the sport growing. I don't want to have to wait MONTHS between good cards I can actually watch.

I'm sure they would definitely be more than their last fight. Pacquiao is much more popular now, as is Marquez.

The exposure both of these guys got by fighting Oscar, Hatton, and Mayweather between the two of them is tremendous.

Cong**** to those involved in this event, I didn't think it would break the 500,000 buy mark.

Although, in my opinion the card wasn't very entertaining. It looked good on paper, but the fights just weren't very exciting to me.

You can't compare those numbers, look at the different amounts spent marketing.

              • Well, well, well... it outdrew Pac-Hatton. Even though Floyd's boring and was fighting a no-hoper in a weight-class mismatch. I guess it's a good day to be a fawning sycophant like me, huh?

                • For those of you who want to give JMM all the credit because the crowd was predominantly Mexican, consider that his last fight was on HBO against a Mexican-American champion in Juan Diaz.

                  • Great for boxing, cheers for this guyz. One question, did they ever show the fight on the theaters, if so how it did and are they counting those tickets as ppv????

No doubt. Mind you, this was a NON-title, comeback after almost a 2 yr layoff, tune-up fight, in a Recession!
