What 3 names are you talking about ?Since David broke down and KOd Goliath the oldsters have waxed on about what they'd have done to the newer generation. Fury and Bowe both showed great gifts in the ring, but to be fair I ask myself if Bowe ever beat anyone as good as Fury and I say no. Did Fury ever beat anyone as good a Bowe, and I say yes - Three times!!!!!
I hope you don't mean wilder as he's a one trick pony with b to c level stamina
Bowe would have been full of surprises and we know he could go 12 rounds and take a great shot and ****
So many more dimensions to bowe over wilder
And don't get me wrong wilder h2h with bowe could potentially land that one trick but as far as who would be the harder fight for Fury i would say bowe without thinking twice about it
Furys top wins are over guys with severe technical weaknesses including wlad
If you want me to break down his best wins and why they're not as impressive as a casual would believe i will go into detail for you and will gladly await your responseComment

They don't go to the body because he has long ass arms to block them, and can deliver a counter pretty fast for his size. Guys literally panic when they meet him in the ring. Just like Jon Jones from the UFC. He looks skinny until you face him in the cage, and you see how big he really is.Comment

Don't buy that at all when you analyse how Golota bashed him up. It would be 10 times worse against Fury.Comment

It occurs to me that you hold Rid**** Bowe in high esteem, and so do I my friend. I've covered boxing for many years and saw Bowe coming on strong as far back as 1985 in his USA vs. USSR loss to Soviet Light Heavyweight Nurmagomed Shanavazov, where the skinny teenager showed the poise generally associated with more mature amateurs. Two years later Bowe beat my Heavyweight Kilbert Pierce on his way to becoming America's top big man headed into an Olympic season. He's a special talent and he was a great world championship professional between 1990 and 1996.

But like every fighter (and every living being) he had his personal flaws and limits too.
In his career and era (1988-2006), I choose to rank him just below Tyson, Lewis, Wladimir and Vitali, and just above Holyfield, Foreman II, Holmes II, Ruddock, Morrison, Mercer, Moorer, McCall, Bruno, Douglas, Tucker, Stewart, Cooper and Golota, who soundly outfought Bowe twice while Rid**** was still in his 20s.
He was moved brilliantly in spite of Newman's famously caustic nature, and made the most of his talents in spite of himself. But building his resume on the backs of slightly past prime Thomas, Cooper, Biggs, Tubbs, Dokes, and fall-short Seldon, Coetzer, Mathis Jr., Donald, Hide and Gonzalez, and adding in his great trilogy with Evander, he compiled a fine body of work, but certainly nothing to separate him from Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and for that matter Anthony Joshua, given Bowe's short stay at the top and career opponent omissions.
This forms the basis of my opinions.
Wilder, for the record, is a 44 hit wonder, and is guaranteed to follow Bowe into the hall of fame, wich is as far as a fighter from any combat sport can go.Comment

I rate Wilder, but he is nowhere near as good as Rid**** Bowe.

Bowe was a super heavyweight that had varied and sophisticated offense.
If Wilder was able to land his biggest punches on Fury, punches that are at times? Broadcast before he throws them, then Bowe is going to be landing on Fury at a high rate in my opinion.
I enjoyed the Wilder vs Fury trilogy, but skill for skill the third fight was not high level action 'Overall the trilogy was awesome in terms of passion and aggression, but skill for skill there have been many more higher level Heavyweight fights.
The Holyfield vs Bowe trilogy was a higher level contest, between two fighters that were more complete fighters overall than Wilder & Fury.
Note: Tyson Fury has not beaten Wilder three times. Fury did not win the first fight, you don't win world titles by being backed up all night and decked twice 'That is what happened to Fury in the first fight' The fight was a draw, it was not a robbery.

If breadman insinuated Bowie ducked Lewis that's good enough for me. Bowie is a mother fluffer ducker.Comment

I've been a member since 2004, (BoxingScene began in 2003), but cancelled recently (for the second time) to protest the removal of a comment on the parasitic British Royalty I posted when the Shields-Marshall fight was postponed.
I just returned now to straighten out that misinformation in your post about Bowe ducking Lewis. Bowe was as brave as a lion and never ducked anyone.
What happened was that there was a mutual hatred and permanent beef between Rock Newman Bowe's manager, and Lewis' manager. Also both he and Bowe resented that Bowe had to fight the most successful fighter on record at that time, unbeaten Evander Holyfield, supposedly for the Title, Then Lewis suddenly was inserted, and was to fight Donovan Ruddock. So the Holyfield fight was only a "semi".
Ruddock was a fighter who, just two fights before he fought Lewis had in the previous 18 months had 2 fights with Tyson, been badly KOd and then badly UD'd. Also had been KO'd earlier by a comparative nonentity David Jaco. In other words he'd lost 2 of his last 4 fights.
Both Newman and Bowe felt that it was an undeserved fight and the WBC was playing politics with them., making difficulties. So they STAGED A PUBLICITY STUNT, of throwing the WBC Belt in the garbage and walking away . The reporters were primed and Bowe retrieved the belt right after the cameras stopped rolling..
I just edited because I forgot that Lewis had, around the same time, been KO'd by Oliver McCall, which added insult to Injury for Bowe.
THAT'S the REAL story boys. So Believe it, and revise your opinions. Bowe finished his career with a single loss in 44 fights, in the trilogy with Holyfield. He KO'd Holyfield also., He had 33 KOs in 43 wins.Last edited by edgarg; 01-02-2023, 10:58 PM.Comment
