Pacquiao has already lost, and they don't build his marketability on never tasting defeat, unlike some other fighters.

His marketability is built around his humble persona, and his fight style.

Floyd's marketability is based on his unblemished record, and his big mouth. When Floyd loses (if he ever does, considering he carefully picks his opponents to avoid this)...his whole mystique will be gone.

A great fighter indeed, but never dared to be great by taking the risks necessary.

    Another good one!

That's is exactly what I was thinking.

Both fighters (Pacman and PBF) have valid case to demand the biggest share of the money so I would rather see a 40/40 split and 20 going to the winner so we can all see the fight take place, (IF PACMAN BEATS COTTO).

However I do noticed that everybody, (Pacman, PBF and even Mosley's teams and fans) are kind of overlooking the fact that Cotto has a great chance to beat Pacman.

While everybody is talking purse splits and possible fights, Cotto is in the background getting ready for Pacman and anybody after that.

all our boy floyd need is 1 day but he didn't. Those are the sign of true fear.

on the other hand pacquiao had already announced that he plans to retire after 2 fights. it means one more fight after cotto. after the cotto fight pacquiao can fight mosley if gayweather/pacquiao wont happen, then retire. now, whoever pacquiao's opponent after cotto regardless of who (gayweather or mosley) whatever happen, win or lose manny will retire becoz hes going to run for congress in 2010, pacquiao is financially stable unlike gayweather. pac owns a lot of businesses in the philippines. but gayweather has just restarted his boxing profession. as what ive said hes back becoz of money. legacy reason is nonsense. now who do you think of the two is in need of each other? pacquiao who will retire next year no matter what? or gayweather who just came back to boxing, who is desperately in need of money.

finally, in order for gayweather to be on the p4p #1 spot again he need to fight and beat manny.
I agree in everything you said... I think real reason my boy back is because of the financial problem.

floyd is the one that doesent need you, he can easily set up a big money fight with shane mosley.
Floyd is the one that has already said that he and his camp aren't interested in a Mosley fight (because it is not a big draw). How come the public thinks it is a big fight yet Floyd plays it down?

Why did Floyd refuse to make the weight in a fight with a lightweight who added 15 lbs of bulk? Sounds to me like he was worried that JMM might be too much had he sacrificed any weight.

It is Mayweather who wants this Pac fight more than anything as if the IRS snatching 5 mill from him was not evidence enough that he is in financial troubles plus a repo'd Benz, and other lawsuits for cash not paid.

Floyd wants the most money for the least risk which is his prerogative but don't be mad when people call you out on it. He will never fight a bigger guy whom he feels intimidated by (Mosley, Williams, or Clottey) and will use P4P rankings as an excuse.

The P4P ranking thing is crap for boxing really. Pac may be ranked as the "top P4P ranked boxer" but he could not beat B-Hop, Dawson, Adamek for examples. Hell, Tyson Fury is not a ranked P4P guy and he would put Pac to sleep. Floyd uses this P4P status to justify his choice of opponents, which is a joke IMO. If a guy is bigger than him, yet is not ranked #1 or #2 on the p4p list, they are not a big draw and thus, not worthy. It is the smaller guys who get the top p4p statuses because they have the overhead room to move up in weight and challenge guys. If a light heavy moved down in weight to challenge the smaller divisions you think that guy would be ranked in the top of p4p list? No, he would be called a "cherry-picker".

Welterweights should fight welters and so on, that's why the weight classes are there in the first place.
