What's with the sudden disrespect with Mexico's boxing?

Yep how can anybody knock Mexican fighters, some of the greatest to ever lace them up, and not just a few there have been truckloads of them, Mexico has a truly great fighting heritage.Comment

I watched Akhi Tv a few times but he seems overly biased and seems to favor strange conspiracy theories like the Fury doctored gloves one. So it doesn’t surprise me, I think he just likes to stir the pot tbh.
There is more important things out there than just focusing on people disrespecting a country's boxing history, but it has become a common reoccurrence ever since many top fighters have retired.
As for a source, well it is not covered by big sites, but it is often implied by media influencers with big followings such as Akhi Tv with other channels alike.Comment

Anyone know if he’s of Arabic descent or ****** I’m pretty sure Akhi is Arabic, almost sounds Egyptian Coptic in origin. Cool name either way.

Man we have some loonies here.
If you truly believe that you need your head examined....seriously if you're not trolling you need mental help because Teo whooped Loma easier than Bivol did Canelo and Zurdo that's that's a fact.
Or you might have some out of this world hate for a certain group of fighters that you only see what you want despite the whole world telling you you're wrong.
You're basically telling everyone the skie is purple when the rest of the normal folks are telling you it's blue.
Get out of here and get mental help for you're one well being.Comment

I don’t think anyone is honestly bashing Mexican boxing history on here, or if it is, I haven’t seen it.I am not going to discredit Bivol overwhelming wins over Canelo and Zurdo, the former supermiddleweight champion had already fought multiple fighters that are larger than Bivol in actuality in Saunders, Plant, and Kolavev so there shouldn't be excuses on why he lost, and Zurdo was a big ass cruiserweight with a 44-0-0 record despite being unaccomplished.
But why try to discredit Mexico's boxing history despite that in the last 100 years they have produced outstanding talent like JCC, Morales, Barrera, JMM, Saldivar, Sanchez, Zarate, Olivares, Casanova, Arizmendi and etc.
Right now, besides Canelo there isn't really outstanding talent but that doesn't erase Mexico's boxing accomplishments from the past.
There are also European and American boxers at the light heavyweight division, yet I doubt there is anyone of note that can beat Bivol other than a declining Beterviev at the moment.
As disclosed in a different post, I got really pissed at Canelo for failing the steroids test and so I have bashed HIM in posts, but it’s half joking, he IS one of the better boxers in this era with a great career resume.
I like Andy Ruiz a lot though and want to see him fight and beat Wilder, although I’m not too confident that he will be successful when it happens.
We can be proud of Mexican boxing history, I just think our guys tend to be a bit slow and plodding and so I’m not a huge fan of the “Mexican style”. I wish our boxing culture could incorporate some of the slickness of Urban American and Euro-Gypsy styles like Mayweather and Fury and such. It might serve Mexican boxing well in the long run. And to bring this full circle, Canelo HAS done some of that and although I’m not exactly a fan of his, I appreciate that and hope the younger Mexican and Mexican American fighters can learn from that example he took.Comment

I agree to a degree and I am not a proponent of dividing fighters based on race, but with that said, I personally don’t see a problem with supporting fighters based on nationality or a favorite “school” of boxing (ie Cuban Style, Urban Style, Eastern Euro Style, etc.)
People tend to be patriotic and support their country’s atheletes and also like certain styles of fighting.
One of my coworkers who is black, always cheered for the “boxer” over the “puncher” regardless of race. He was a fan of Mayweather, and of Fury against Wilder, Ward against Kovalev, and just anyone who was the more technical guy against the slugger. I liked that and found that a cool way of deciding who to support, and decidedly free of some of the extreme tribalism that occurs in boxing.

Im European and I wish our fighters could incorporate more of th Mexican style of going to the body and head and figting with more aggression
