I get what you’re saying. I agree there is some good to the Mexican style, but as a half-Mexican American and familiar with the culture and some of the boxing culture, I think there is too much a focus on machismo and they take too much punishment to give out punishment and I’d like to see more of the younger Mexican boxers take the good of the Mexican Fighting School and leave off some of the walking through punches stuff and incorporate more defensive skills. I’d like to see Mexican boxing improve and evolve. And I’d like to see more Mexican heavyweights. It’s not like all Mexico is just small people, it’s a diverse country and there are tall people, maybe they just don’t go into boxing as much. Would love to see more Mexican heavyweights than just Ruiz.
What's with the sudden disrespect with Mexico's boxing?

Point is all fighters have flaws.

Bjs, sunny Edward, Joshua, Smith, barret etc all very flawed fighters.

1. Akhi Tv race baits and conspires to attract and please his target audience, he has 150k viewers.
I don’t think anyone is honestly bashing Mexican boxing history on here, or if it is, I haven’t seen it.
As disclosed in a different post, I got really pissed at Canelo for failing the steroids test and so I have bashed HIM in posts, but it’s half joking, he IS one of the better boxers in this era with a great career resume.
I like Andy Ruiz a lot though and want to see him fight and beat Wilder, although I’m not too confident that he will be successful when it happens.
We can be proud of Mexican boxing history, I just think our guys tend to be a bit slow and plodding and so I’m not a huge fan of the “Mexican style”. I wish our boxing culture could incorporate some of the slickness of Urban American and Euro-Gypsy styles like Mayweather and Fury and such. It might serve Mexican boxing well in the long run. And to bring this full circle, Canelo HAS done some of that and although I’m not exactly a fan of his, I appreciate that and hope the younger Mexican and Mexican American fighters can learn from that example he took.
2. He is Arabic.
3. For defensive styles like Canelo, I haven't seen anyone trying to replicate him but Jesse Bam Rodriguez and Emiliano Vargas replied that their styles are based on Lomachenko with Robert Garcia stating that Jesse also took inspiration from Orlando Canizales.
Even though Vargas is unproven he looks promising.

I highly doubt you are European. Where are you from? Europe is a large place so calling a continent a single style makes no sense. Even within countries there are different styles.Comment

The most popular fighters also get the most haters - Canelo, Fury, Joshua, Tank etc. Boxing is also very tribal, so when haters see Canelo lose they **** on the fighter's nationality as well.I am not going to discredit Bivol overwhelming wins over Canelo and Zurdo, the former supermiddleweight champion had already fought multiple fighters that are larger than Bivol in actuality in Saunders, Plant, and Kolavev so there shouldn't be excuses on why he lost, and Zurdo was a big ass cruiserweight with a 44-0-0 record despite being unaccomplished.
But why try to discredit Mexico's boxing history despite that in the last 100 years they have produced outstanding talent like JCC, Morales, Barrera, JMM, Saldivar, Sanchez, Zarate, Olivares, Casanova, Arizmendi and etc.
Right now, besides Canelo there isn't really outstanding talent but that doesn't erase Mexico's boxing accomplishments from the past.
There are also European and American boxers at the light heavyweight division, yet I doubt there is anyone of note that can beat Bivol other than a declining Beterviev at the moment.Comment

not hating, that marquez/morales/barrera era is probably my favourite and mexican fighters are warriors for the most part but got to be honest 9 times out of 10 i see a mexican in there against someone with a bit of movement and defence they end up losing, usually by a distanceComment
