  • Draw. And big props to Ortiz.

Loma’s giant-slayer act at 135 is nearing its end. Accelerated wear from fighting bigger men and a falloff in reflexes will make the end a brutal one if he isn’t careful. Remember Roy: one day untouchable. The next, unmissable.

He is in charge of his own fate. But he really should go down to 130 for his own health. Speaking just as a fan of unorthodox stylists, I miss seeing the pyrotechnics. The ask at 135 makes his accomplishments remarkable, but it also takes the shine off his work.

He had 12 losses when he fought Loma, stfu with the excuses lol. If any other fighter lost to someone like that they would get dismissed. The double standards are hilarious.

      • Boxingscene is truly becoming a joke, they have jake Paul vs silva as a headline on there site, even on a night loma was boxing, what a joke, they really have a certain narrative, pushing certain fighters and ignoring others, the guy isn't even ranked or fighting ranked fighters and he is up against a guy that is easily a great grandfather, y not put up mayweather headlines he is always doing something, silva is older than floyd, I think I'm going to need a new source for boxing news because this site is only circus news

          • Loma lost or a draw at best, but don't let that get in the way of taking Ortiz 's career best and flushing it for the sake of the favorite.

How is Ortiz a championship level fight, the guy had never been in a 12 round fight? Talk about biased. By the way, Loma didn't win, he was gifted a decision.

              • 1. Being a Loma fan must be tough when watching his fights. He is the opposite of Canelo in that his punches do not look like homers. Are the judges seeing how clean they are? You only could hope.
                2. The clenching strategy Ortiz had was effective to remove Loma’s inside game but it ****** to watch.
                3. That was the absolute best Ortiz could do and it simply was not good enough. Please never rematch.
                4. They better get some really good judges if Loma fights Stevenson or Haney because those are going to be insanely difficult fights to judge based on the nuances of the fast clean shots. I imagine that clean punching is going to be what decides who wins those fights.
                5. Anyone that though Ortiz won needs to go back and watch the fight in slow motion. Ortiz did not land anywhere near as many clean shots as what you think.

No, no fighter that fought salido in their second fight would be dismissed, especially when they have the amateur pedigree that loma has. Name a single fighter in the last 30 years that fought someone as tough as salido in their second fight. You sound like a casual fan who is obsessed with zeros.

Ward said he saw some ring rust but that he didnt think it was an age issue. But yeah, he doesnt look like he's been training daily at 100 since he decided to enlist.

Then Loma should have no trouble bum rushing him then. One thing is for sure is that he is going to have to throw a lot of punches and take several risks if he is going to defeat Devin Haney. Which is something up to now that his opponents have been very reluctant in doing.
