Not the biggest Loma fan but the hate I’m seeing here for this man is insane. Ortiz was rendered useless in the last 3 rounds. Loma was the smaller, slower, shorter reach and still had the guy fighting on his back foot. I’m confused, what am I missing here?

Stop playing the race card, He gets hate because he was served up title shots he never deserved, and is just a media manufactured hype job. Given a title shot in his 2nd fight, loses it then given a shot again next fight. What a joke.

The 3 weight division crap is just smoke and mirrors to fool the morons. Thats easy to do these days with so many belts, weak champions and small gaps in the divisions. I count what happens in the ring, not just paper.
He doesn't need the excuse, he landed the harder punches, and took the championship rounds to take the win. I was just pointing out that outside of height and reach deficits, he was probably outweighed by 10 plus pounds in the ring. Calling Salido a journeyman is a stretch. Salido was a solid contender who also didn't make weight for the fight. A different set of judges may have viewed it differently. Lopez was not green, he was KOing everybody he faced. No shame in losing to Lopez. Who is calling him an ATG top P4P guy?

What race card? Yeah I know he was given the silver spoon treatment. That wasn't his second pro fight either, it was his 8th if I recall correctly. The six or so fight he had post amateur career were fought without head gear, with regular gloves, and he was paid for the bouts. Those are pro fights. I don't disagree with much of what you said.

Quite possible. I think he would have had some issue with Stevenson at featherweight, but outside of that he would have cleaned it out and ruled for a while.

Don't kid yourself. He wasn't on the frontlines, neither was Usyk or the Klitschos. Loma and Usyk's lives would actually be in danger from their own Ukrainians if they got sent to the front as several of the Neo-**** Nationalists have openly stated. They view Usyk, and Loma as sellouts.

This win by Loma could age incredibly well.

Ortiz is a fighter who could end up challenging for titles at Welter, and Loma, a faded fighter and a natural Feather, managed to beat him.

Just shows you what an ALL TIME GREAT fighter truly is!

salido was ranked three in 2011, one in 2012, and two when he fought loma in 2013. how is fighting the second ranked guy in your division a journeyman? a guy who has been a top fighter for years is a journeyman? he even moved up and became a top 3 fighter at 130 after the loma fight. why be this biased? he fought a really good fighter and lost a SD. even if he had lost to some random unranked guy, that still doesnt erase his actual accomplishments. so many people seem to love fantasy boxing where their boxers dont actually fight anyone but they keep winning to keep those fantasy points churning. id much rather have lomas career than tanks because tank has fought like 2 top 10 boxers his entire career and they were nowhere near the level of salido the journeyman while loma took a couple losses while compiling a much better resume
