A lot of people remember Butterbean too. They love him. Even non-boxing fans share his fights on FaceBook and Instagram.

So what? HOF is supposed to be the best of the best. Artuto was never remotely that. Not even close.

Gatti and Wilder both completely mediocre fighters with 2-3 decent wins. Arguing one deserves in more than the other is splitting hairs.

If Gatti is in, a lot ****tier fighters than belt-holder with like 10 defenses should be in.

Still wondering why they have their grubby hands out for money for the Helenius fight- it's NOT Pay Per View worthy! His numbers are in the toilet, aside from 2 of the 3 Fury fights.

Wilder's my guy, but c'mon now!

It's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of best boxers.

But Wilder has no good wins that's the issue his opponents were practically hand picked and HoF is not about "best of the best" at all, it's partially that but it's mainly contribution to the sport hence "Rocky Balboa" is HoF.

Wilders contribution thus far is mediocrity, he hasn't made the sport any more popular, he hasn't inspired a generation and his defences, the criteria you want him to join the HoF for is bum of the month shít...

You don’t put someone in the hall of fame based on how they do against other era fighters so the article is completely wrong .

Wilder will go in the hall of fame wheather he deserves to be there or not based on this era of accomplishments wheather big or small is not relevant and no one’s opinion will effect him going in , I can’t understand for the life of me how anyone who’s understanding of the sport doesn’t get that ?

Gatti's best win is Gabriel Ruelas.

And he's in the Hall of Fame.

Knocking out a bunch of cans, one overrated past his prime Ortiz, and avoiding the top ten(Ortiz being the exception)while fighting endless “voluntary” defenses is definitely not ppv worthy.

And as I said to you previously he's been in one of the most historical trilogies of all time to both boxing fans and none fans a like.

The same can not be said of Wilder, you're intentionally neglecting the part where I said it's about their contribution to the sport, Wilder has none to speak of...

I 'm not convinced Gatti earned his IBHOF spot (especially over other great fighters who never made it), but he was actually a 2-division world champion, ten years apart. He was also involved in four fights of the year (1997 vs Gabriel Ruelas, 1998 vs Ivan Robinson, 2002 Mickey Ward I, and the 2003 Mickey Ward trilogy fight). A lot of fans thought he should have had maybe a couple more FOTY nods (e.g. Wilson Rodriguez in 1996 was on the candidate list). His numbers may not match up to other blue chip entrants, but he was among the most famous fighters in the sport for more than a decade.

You can’t compare eras when discussing HoF. Wilder fought in a weak era for HWs but is that his fault? Should he have pushed harder for a Klitscho and/or Joshua fight, sure, but for the most part he fought whoever was available and knocked them out (except Fury of course). Wilders a HoF. Would he have been one in the prime of the klitcho era (or any other era), maybe not but we will never know.
