KO AJ in england and cause an Eddie Hearn breakdown ala Frank maloney, then KO him again in the rematch and then give a post fight 'my wife might need a wheelchair' type interview ala Tony Thompson - pricey 2 and then we can start talking..
You can’t compare eras when discussing HoF. Wilder fought in a weak era for HWs but is that his fault? Should he have pushed harder for a Klitscho and/or Joshua fight, sure, but for the most part he fought whoever was available and knocked them out (except Fury of course). Wilders a HoF. Would he have been one in the prime of the klitcho era (or any other era), maybe not but we will never know.
Exactly.
Klitschko's best win is David freakin' Haye. Wilder would knock Haye to the moon in a single round.
I love Wladimir, but his resume is not good at all - Yet no one's going to argue that he's not a hall of famer.
The point of the article is that Wilder's resume doesn't warrant HOF entry: the resumes of existing HOF'ers says the opposite. Almost anyone gets in. Wilder will get in too.
lol, this article sounds like it was written by the common forum man here who can't stand Wilder. That being said, it's not that I necessarily disagree with any of it. I'm not sure anyone thought Wilder was HOF worthy. Not unless perhaps he toppled Fury.
Regardless of losing to Fury, it is no way diminished the excitement Wilder brings and at the end of the day, that is what Wilder is all about. He brings excitement to the division. Who cares if he's a loud mouth, it's part of what makes him fun to watch, whether he gets KO'd or KO's his opponent.
Wilder HOF for beating who? His best win was Stiverne and 40yr old Ortiz.
If you believe that Mike Tyson should be in the HOF, then you should believe that Wilder belongs because I can't think of any big name he beat other than maybe Spinks♂️
I’m a big wilder fan but I wouldn’t say his reseme gets him into the hall. But giving his standing at HW with the right hand, he’s closer than myself. I don’t think I’ll be on the ballots soon. But hey, never know!!! Right
Wilder can be inducted into any hall that will have him, but he'll still always be a one-dimensional boxer with a monster right hand to me. And when he finally fought a prime fighter near his own size, he got KTFO.
I can easily see him going in the hall of fame. The author claims that no one can make a case against him being better than Fury and the Klitys. Both of those names were known drug cheats. If you actually care about steroids in sports than he was better for never cheating. And the folks who broke the rules certainly should not be ingrained in the hall of fame unless that is what you want boxing to be about. Which personally I am fine with drug cheats being the best, otherwise we need to kick ole Muahmmad Ali out of the HOF as well. And we can't have that.
By Lyle Fitzsimmons - Deontay Wilder is fighting this weekend. But it's OK if you hadn't heard. After all, it's on the same night as the lightweight title rematch between Devin Haney and George Kambosos Jr., a fight that's gotten (and deserves) more attention.

Regardless of your opinions. He’s still a top 2 guy. He WILL KO Usyk. He can’t beat Fury and everyone else can’t take his shot for 12 rounds. Usyk included.

Respectfully, this is going full-ret.ard.
What name fighter of his era besides Rid**** Bowe did Tyson not fight? He would have fought Bowe had he not gone to jail.
On his resume from his era: Trevor Berbick, Bonecrusher Smith, Pinklon Thomas, Toney Tucker, Michael Spinks, Tony Tubbs, Frank Bruno, Carl Williams, Frans Botha, Larry Holmes, Razor Ruddock
He also bit the great Evander Holyfield's ear clean off.
