Agreed but old Floyd was tough as nails, maybe not the fighter that his son is but certainly tough. He took a beating that few could have taken in that fight.

He was actually a top 5 ranked welterweight contender once.

Floyd Jr. himself has underrated toughness, he simply doesn't have to display it a whole lot. Leonard would bring that out of him.

Not to mention, he fought Sr. EARLY in his career. So if the question is could a 40-0 Floyd trouble Ray around his 13th fight...sure, why not. But on his best day at Welter, Ray was a beast of a different kind. If Oscar could win rounds from Floyd, Ray stops him.

Very true. He is a very tough guy. A strong fighter that will, in all likely-hood, go without ever being truly hurt or knocked down. But, I still contend it's because he will never face a fighter that can actually test him. All of these mythical match-ups that he is being considered for mean so little because we will never see him face true ATG caliber fighters, which is sad because he could have actually shown real greatness instead of simply his, as his fans like to point out so often, ATG 'skills' that might have beaten every fighter on earth at any time.....

          Even 1988 Mike Tyson!

Nobody will ever beat Mayweather. He's just that guy who can't be beat.

Yes, this is true and I can't understand why more people can't see it. Oscar won the first few rounds right? With his jab, and combinations. Now, imagine a quicker fighter that could do that throughout the whole fight as well as getting stronger at the end. Not only that, but a fighter with a better, harder, quicker, more consistent jab that is more educated as well as better quicker combinations as well as a fighter that is ATG at his best weight. I mean, really people, get a grip.

Your making it seem like SRL would blow Mayweather away in 5 rounds when SRL couldn't do that to Benitez or Ayub Kalule. Floyd would easily beat both of those two. Benitez defensive skills might give Floyd some problems but the fact that Benitez sometimes punched wide Floyd easily counters him and picks him apart. I really don't see Kalule touching Floyd. He's so slow.

Also you can't base your decision just off SRL beating Hearns and Hagler and that automatically meaning he beats Floyd. It's a completely different style matchup. Tommy Hearns knocked out Duran, but Hagler and SRL couldn't, yet both beat Hearns. Boxing is all about matchups.

Benitez made Ray miss a lot in there fight and Ray was open for the counters, Had he had Floyd's offensive arsenal he wins that fight.

Mayweather easily beats both? What exactly do you base this on, he certainly hasn't proven that he can "easily" beat elite welterweights/light middleweights.

Can't imagine Mayweather having an easy time against this man:

I think Floyd is a better fighter than Sugar Ray so this is easy to me. Floyd ranks him in every category and would win this IMO.
