Floyd sr made a great point back in 1999 about his son and Ray Leonard. He said Ray relied on his legs as his defense and when those legs were gone you saw what happen. Layoff or no layoff. His defense was his legs. Floyd has a ability that Ray never had and that's defending and blocking within close range without having to get on the legs to make a guy miss. Both fighters have there advantages.

Because Floyd has mastered the ability to defend and make you miss within close range there is no way Hector Camacho would land like that even if Floyd was 40 years old. His style is more suited for longevity. This is off topic but thought id throw in in there.

      4. Inside fighting
Where are you getting this from, just out of curiosity? Hearns, without a doubt, had one of the great left hooks to the body, ever! He destroyed people with it. I think what you need to do is go and watch a bit more of Hearns. Although this discussion is not about him, saying one of his weaknesses was body shots is crazy. There are very few fighters that had body shots as good as Hearns did. He had a great jab to the body and truly one of the most powerful, debilitating left hooks I've ever seen.

I think you'll find everyone and anyone that knows about Hearns would agree completely. His ability to take body shots was also fine. He was rarely ever hurt from a body shot.

I also think you underrate his inside fighting. No, he wasn't an inside fighter like Mayweather or Duran but for such a big, tall guy he could really fight on the inside. Again, I'm confused where you are getting this stuff from? I've never seen Hearns' inside fighting as a big weakness of his at all. He dominated many fights on the inside. His only big weakness, as you correctly pointed out, was stamina and maybe a slightly weak chin.

Though the chin weakness is in my opinion is quite arguable. He was only ever stopped three times in his best years, as the Uriah Grant fight was way past his best years. But, the Leonard fight was stamina, not his chin letting him down and it had been fought at a very fast pace and he had also come in well under the weight limit which may have weakened him more down the stretch. Apart from that though, he get cracked by Barkley, who was the only guy to ever decision Hearns interestingly enough, and the insane madness of the Hagler fight, which wasn't really a testament to his stamina or chin problems as very few fighters could ever have sustained such punishment or dished it out as they did.

Anyway, I'm still surprised you are arguing vehemently for Floyd in this. From everything I've seen between these guys it just leads me to believe that Floyd wouldn't really stand much of a chance at all. Just an opinion though I guess.

Leonard is more faster than any Floyd fought. Even if he can avoid some shots, some would land on him. Leonard by decision.

Leonard has the size, aggression, combination punching, jab and most importantly the mentality to beat a guy like Floyd. Could be close with Floyd's defence and counter shots. But I think SRL decisions him.

Leonard by KO in less than 10 rounds. Leonard was one of the best ever combination punchers. Boy could he put them together.

To the poster who said that Hearns isn't a bodypuncher: Revisit Barkley-Hearns I.

There's some real lack of boxing knowledge in here. People need to watch the Fab 4 actually fight and research them before they make ****** accusations, making it seem like Mayweather can actually beat any of them.

Leonard has got this, most likely by decision but i wouldn't rule out a late KO.

It wouldn't even be close, Leonard by early KO.
