Good Ole Paulie keeps on hating on latin fighters I have to believe plucked eyebrows Paulies sister was passed around by Mexicans and Ricans because the disdain he has for them rival Teddy Atlas hate for then.

With that said Canelo faced Chavez when he wasn't yet the star he is now once he became huge he said no more Mexicans kinda like Floyd didn't face African Americans much.

What can the boxing world do without Saul Alvarez? He'll probably take a long break. And he will pick one guy when he comes back for his next fight. Whoever he picks is currently doing nothing hoping he will be the chosen one. What a ridiculous sport.

I don't think that's the reason why, what's more likely than not is he see's two, tall, young, undefeated fighters, who can punch, in Benavidez, and Ramirez.
The thought of his losing again, and to one of his own countrymen or anyone else for that matter is just to much him to actually deal with, at this point in time in his career.
He know's deep in his heart that the end of his career is very near, and he just want's to take fights that his team believe's he can win, before retiring.

To be fair, Canelo did clarify at the post fight press conference that he would fight anybody.

These guys at the very top level are not scared of anyone, I don't think, but sometimes they do play hardball, and make demands with the money, time, weight, ring size, etc.

Damn you are so right about this. Ever since he signed that Dazn contract four years ago 160, 168 and 175 have been very stagnate. With Charlo, Andrade and Mungia not fighting each other at 160, Benavidez v Plant v Morrell not fighting at 168 and the 175ers not getting it on because everyone is hoping for that payday has really made a mess of those divisions. Hopefully he stays true to his word and stays out until May 2023 while his hand recovers so PBC and TR can make the fights we want. There is no why PBC can't make 3G v Jermall next or TR can't let Janibek unify with Charlo on Showtime just like Al let Porter go to Espn to fight Bud. If Plant beats Dirrell then it's no excuse for them to not to make Plant v Benavidez. Bivol v Zurdo winner should fight Beterbiev for all the chips. Hopefully Canelo is boxing's last Diva. I was beginning to get worried that the Spence v Bud fight wasn't going to happen because someone was making Diva demands during negotiations, but thankfully Al worked that out (a.k.a. Bud caved in on everything).

Canelo has said that he doesn't have a problem with fighting Mexicans if it's a necessary fight. There's literally no Mexican champ anywhere around him. And no, he never said he wouldn't fight American Benavidez because he's Mexican. After undisputed Canelo signed with DAZN to fight Bivol in hopes of becoming undisputed at 175 but that didn't pan out. He's still under contract with DAZN and Haymon won't send fighters there so people are complaining about nothing while these boxing media platforms run with any headline for the clickbait.

This is what it looks like when a boxer is a complete and total diva and believes the entire boxing apparatus including the fans are supposed to cater to him. He gets mad and ends interviews when journalists ask the tough questions he doesn’t want asked. Boxing created this mess, nationalistic fans, sycophantic promoters, scared journalists not wanting to be blacklisted all created this mess. Boxing will be better off when Canelo is gone and everyone can get to fighting each other again AND the boxing establishment can stop trying to make him the “face of boxing” in the usa. He isn’t floyd Mayweather, he isn’t Muhammad Ali, he isn’t JC Superstar, he isn’t Joe Louis or Marvin Hagler or even Oscar delahoya. Canelo did ask one simple question …. How come the guys that are desperately trying to get a fight with him aren’t fighting each other?
Why are they fighting nondescript guys instead of eliminating each other so Canelo can’t have an excuse?
Canelo’s goal was to unify the 168 division. He was pretty clear about that. These guys were aware and should have fought each other and force the fight to happen.

I’m not disagreeing that Canelo calls the shot on everything but thee guys should have fought each other by now. Benavidez and Charlo specifically
