Canelo's resume is filled with Mexican fighters. I understand what he means that he wouldn't want to fight a top Mexican fighter but if a fight makes sense to make he can't hide behind this excuse.

I just want to know who was the best he fought at 154? He ducked a champion. At 160 he ducked his mandatory and 168 he's ducking the best at the division. What did GGG accomplish at 168 to get a title shot? This is after Canelo said previously that he wouldn't fight GGG. Manufactured legacy and rabid man fans.

Paula! What you don't understand is that by fighting the son of the legend, 1/2 of Mexico got against him and burn his a$$ to the ground for beating Chavez Jr! When he beat Angulo and Gomez it was when he was on his way up, now that he has the pleasure to chose who he wants to fight, he decides not to fight another Mexican. all of you and the media mice are placing Benavidez like if he is out of this world! When Benavidez beats Plant then make a statement for him! Benavidez has a lot of flaws and you as an ex boxer should point htis out to, not to call him the Mexican monster! Now I really don't agree with Pauilie on a lot of stuff but he's correct on this one. I don't think JCC, Salvador Sanchez, Ruben Olivares, Erik Morales, Marco Barrera, Juan Manuel Marqez, Ricardo Lopez and Oscar de la Hoya would have ever said they won't fight Mexicans. I bet they could care less if they were liked by Mexicans if they didn't fight their fellow compatriots. Their job was to fight the very best whether it was their countryman or American blacks. You think ODLH cared if he got burned to the ground by Mexicans because he beat the brakes off JCC? Hells no! Could you imagine if Spence and Crawford called their fight off because they're both black or AJ and Fury not fighting because they're Brits. C'mon son that's BS. Canelo is actively trying to remove himself out of the discussion from being an ATG.

Paulie has a great point. The bottom line David has a lot of movement and hasn't shown any weakness.

Which concern's Canelo to no end, to the point that he walked off of the post fight interview of his last fight, when they asked him if he was going to fight David Benavidez?
It was very telling that the mere mentioning of David Benavidez name, would elicit such a troubling reaction from Canelo, he couldn't stand it or take it anymore.
Telling the report "don't disrespect me", how in the hell was he being disrespected by that question, no it was more like why are you putting me on the spot in front of the everyone who was watching the post fight interview.

Paulie lost all credibility to speak on boxing a few years ago. Getting whooped in bareknuckle was the last straw. He can't be involved in our social club anymore. I know this much.

David Benavidez might be able to do just that, as slow as Canelo looked in recent fights, his propensity to fight for only portions of a round, would hurt him against Benavidez.
Who moves pretty good, is fast, fights virtually every second of every round, has very good stamina, and can take a punch, that all spells serious trouble for Canelo.

really? This is not the Mexico soccer national team this is boxing. You gotta face the next best available opponent. Like AB always says, “it doesn't Matter,
Ameri-Can, Puerto Ri-Can, Mexi-Can, and Afri-Can CAN GET IT!!”

If you won't fight fighters from all over the world, including the country of your birth, then you disqualify yourself from holding an world championship titles in the sport of boxing, and should be stripped.
If he was going to get stripped for refusing to fight one of his mandatory's, then we would see how fast all that bull**** talk would come to an end.

Paulie is not very smart. Just because you have fought Mexicans before doesn't mean you have to want to do it again. He may not like Canelo's decision but his argument doesn't actually work.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Canelo say he wasn't going to fight any more mexicans after he had already fought Chavez Jr and not before the fight? If we're being politically correct, Benavidez isn't mexican. He's hispanic since he was born in the U.S.
