Can the boxing world move on without mentioning Canelo's name? Is he the only fighter that is worth mentioning is this damn sport?

I recall senior not thinking Danny Garcia could do much at 154 and expecting his son Jose to be impressive in his performance against the Philadelphia fighter.

He should've fought Plant or signed on to fight Plant, then people could've been saying, "look how much better he did vs Plant" He could've fought Charla, then people could've been saying "he fought Charlo when Canelo didn't" He could've fought more common Canelo opponents. Instead, his last fight which was 5 month ago, was against an aged opponent that GGG and Saunders already beat. How is that "second to none"?

Fact of the matter is, these PBC dudes want to fight once a year, collect their PBC bum opponent paycheck, cry about not getting Canelo, revolve their careers on Canelo's next move and let keyboard warriors do the fight and negotiations for them.
That is actually untrue. The Benavidez family has not been sitting on their asses all day waiting on a Canelo payday. They have been actively seeking out tougher competition and challengers like Caleb Plant, Jermall Charlo and David Morrell.

However, just like Canelo they have all ducked him. Besides, Canelo Alvarez resume was not all that stellar when he fought Floyd Mayweather nine years ago.

So why can't Canelo give another young guy like Benavidez a chance like Mayweather gave him a chance when he was younger?

"In the postfight press conference, Alvarez was asked about fighting Benavidez, to which he responded that the 25-year-old Mexican-American has done "nothing' to deserve a fight."

I've said it before and I'll say it again: How does a former belt holder not deserve a chance to fight for it again?

Right. The issue is these guys are depriving the sport of great matchups. The boxing world does not revolve around Canelo Alvarez and all the matchups we want to see don’t involve Canelo Alvarez.

Not fighting for an entire year = sitting on their asses. When is his next fight or is he waiting on that Canelo payday? And again, the if the answer is "waiting on that Canelo payday" it means they're sitting on their asses.

"Actively seeking seeking higher competition" LOL. Then f.ucking get it already. Get a goddamn fight already, get a live opponent and whet people's appetite for a Canelo showdown. It did not take very long for Zurdo/Bivol to get made and to find a date and a venue. These PBC chumps acting like it takes 5 years to get a decent opponent. Benavidez is 25 years old and still fighting like a prospect. It's been 3 years since he got stripped and suspended from boxing, 3 years and his best opponent since has been Lemiuex. GTFO with that bullsh.it. He fights on PBC, there are plenty of options for him. If he hasn't taken them, it means he's sitting on his ass, waiting on that Canelo payday and letting keyboard warriors do the fighting for him.

Someone needs to tell Sr. that Canelo is not his son's manager/promoter/advisor. Someone else is.
it's not Canelo's fault that Junior's advisor/manager/promoter doesn't want to pay Plant and Charlo the money they want to fight Jr.
So next time when you're crying and whining over your son's career, do it in front of someone else's door, not Canelo's.

Bingo! You are absolutely correct! You hit the hammer on the nail. The only reason why Canelo is ducking David Benavidez because he is afraid he will lose.

Like I said before, I miss the days when dudes went out and tested themselves, I remember when De la Hoya fought Whitaker and then Trinidad fought Whitaker and beat him more convincingly and only hyped the fight between DLH and Trinidad even more. Or when 22 year old Vargas beat Ike Quartey to hype up his status even more for Trinidad and DLH. Whatever people think of Vargas as a boxer, Benavidez, Charlo, etc. do not have the set of balls Vargas had back in the day.

Nowadays, it's keyboard warriors that do the fighting and negotiating for dudes like Benavidez and Charla who only fight once a year and pick the easiest opponent available to look good for their keyboard warriors.
