I'm not seeing how this fight does much for Canelos legacy. At this point its almost like something like Lennox/Tyson. A big fight because of the names but clearly one guy is past his best.

Hagler? Hagler would destroy Canelo. Hagler’s relentless pressure and roughhouse style on the inside would wear Canelo down within 8/9 rds. Hearns would control Canelo with his reach and jab. Canelo only chance of course would be by Ko if Hearns did not stop him first. With the exception of Ggg, who he has two close debatable fights with,Canelo has not beaten ANY fighter at 160 that comes remotely close to atg’s Hagler/Hearns.

The above named hall of famers would've beaten the tar out of Canelo, many of them would've brutally knocked him out!!!
Canelo is a very good fighter, but that's as far as that goes, the 168 pound division hasn't been around that long, and still in it's short existence there are many fighters who would've defeated Canelo as well.
I have seen Hagler, Hearns, Robinson, Leonard, and Monzon fight. I agree with your assessment on those, but the reality is that Leonard was better at 147 than at 160. That would be a close fight at middleweight. Greb and Walker are the stuff of lore but given when they fought it is difficult to assess how good they really were. As for LaMotta, I don't think he would pose much of a problem for Canelo. La Motta blocked too many punches with his face. He did not have one-punch knockout power. Jake relied mostly on aggressiveness and Canelo is a great counterpuncher. But we can never know how that fight would have fared. I would like to have seen Canelo fight against Tito Trinidad at 160. That would have been a mega fight.

add me to the list of people who don't think this fight solidifies his legacy. He dropped his belt to avoid fighting a prime GGG. Got caught doping. Squeaked by with a dubious draw. Then fights a 40 year old version? In general, I consider myself a Canelo fan, but facts are facts.

The legacy of needing 3 fights to decisively beat an old man who your fans have called “a bum” for the last decade?

If you believe that, then you have not been watching boxing for the last thirty years.

Third fight will be one-sided beating on 40 yo geezer.
You've just revealed that you didn't actually watch either of those fights. Even so, you'll be on here all day again spitting more drivel about why this fight is a waste of time. It's such a waste of time that talking about it consumes your whole day.

I appreciate, and respect your opinion, and the time you took to explain your thought's on these fantasy fights.
They would've been explosive match ups if they had ever taken place, but unfortunately many of these fighters existed in different era's.

LaMotta could take a lot of punishment, and he could dish it out, he'd be right on top of Canelo, and wouldn't let him breath.
Ray Leonard would basically defeat Canelo, the same way Mayweather did with his boxing IQ, speed, and ring generalship.
Then one of the most intriguing fights of all the fights that you mentioned happened Trinidad versus Canelo, now that would've been something to watch.
Who do you think would've won that Puerto Rican vs Mexican rivalry, and why? This I want to hear!

I watched both fights and realized how overrated hypejob GGG is. That hypejob will be ended by a high level ATG and best fighter of current generation. He will count his payday with bill counter and you ****riders will keep cry.

You either did not watch either fight (highlights do not count) or you simply do not know what you're seeing if you genuinely believe GGG is an overrated hypejob. Read through this forum. GGG is vastly underrated on these boards.
