Comments Thread For: Trilogy Finale Gives Canelo a Chance to Solidify Legacy

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - When it comes to boxing, Canelo Alvarez doesn't want for much. He turned pro as a teen, was a champion at 20 and has made more money across nearly 17 years in the ring than legends like Joe Louis, Ray Robinson or Muhammad Ali ever dreamed.

I'm watching and supporting boxing most of the last 30 years, I don't think I've seen a better 160 to 168 fighter Saul Canelo Alvarez. Would loved to have seen him against hagler and hearns. I can't see GGG winning this fight but it should be a cracker.

Since when does beating a 40 yr old who has barely been active for 4 yrs and has shown significant regression for yrs a way to solidify one’s resume? Canelo has a good legacy but it looks better on paper than the reality of what it is when you take certain things into account such as the age of the biggest ame opponents he’s faced and the quality of fighter of the younger boxers he’s faced. Not to mention scorecard favors he’s received.

Their first fight was damn good. The second fight Canelo was busting up G. I expect the same on the 3rd with a 40 year old G.

Do you know there are no GGG highlights for first fight? Because he couldn't land anything significant lmfao. Canelo made him shadow boxing merchant.

Second fight Canelo's every single punch f**ked him.

Third fight will be one-sided beating on 40 yo geezer.

Hagler, Hearns, Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard, Harry Greb, Mickey Walker, Carlos Monzon, Jake LaMotta, James Toney, and many other middleweight champions, and contenders of yore.
The above named hall of famers would've beaten the tar out of Canelo, many of them would've brutally knocked him out!!!
Canelo is a very good fighter, but that's as far as that goes, the 168 pound division hasn't been around that long, and still in it's short existence there are many fighters who would've defeated Canelo as well.

Boruica, you don't seem to have the boxing intelligence to post that reply. Either you're a another racist on boxing scene or your just another Canelo hater. Sugar ray Leonard would not have beating Canelo
