I am up in the air about a Trinidad vs Canelo fight. On the one hand, Felix never lost to a Mexican fighter. He had reach and great power and was relentless. On the other hand, Canelo has a great defense, takes a punch, and is one of the best counter punches of his era. I think it is at least a 3 close fight series Felix winning at 154 lbs, Canelo edging Felix at 160, and a coin toss on the 3rd. I don't see a blowout in any fight unless it is Trinidad outworking Canelo at 154 and winning by a comfortable margin.
I appreciate, and respect your opinion, and the time you took to explain your thought's on these fantasy fights.
They would've been explosive match ups if they had ever taken place, but unfortunately many of these fighters existed in different era's.
LaMotta could take a lot of punishment, and he could dish it out, he'd be right on top of Canelo, and wouldn't let him breath.
Ray Leonard would basically defeat Canelo, the same way Mayweather did with his boxing IQ, speed, and ring generalship.
Then one of the most intriguing fights of all the fights that you mentioned happened Trinidad versus Canelo, now that would've been something to watch.
Who do you think would've won that Puerto Rican vs Mexican rivalry, and why? This I want to hear!

"The WBA/WBC middleweight champion was cleared recently by a plastic surgeon to fight December 15, though, which led to finalizing a deal to move up to the super middleweight limit of 168 pounds to face Fielding (27-1, 15 KOs)."
NEW YORK – The cut above Canelo Alvarez’s left eye isn’t completely healed, but the Mexican icon isn’t concerned about it as he heads toward training camp for his fight against Rocky Fielding. Alvarez suffered that laceration barely a month before the press conference Wednesday for his shot at Fielding’s WBA world super middleweight title December 15 at Madison Square Garden. Promoter Oscar De La Hoya and Alvarez (50-1-2, 34 KOs
Also, I'm not entirely convinced that Canelo's corner team were using strictly legal chemicals to control the bleeding over his eye because that was a BAD cut which appeared very early in the fight, directly above the eye... but somehow it wasn't dripping blood at all?! In fact, the only time I noticed the eye dripping blood was after the 12th round (when they potentially hadn't applied said chemical to it).Comment

That's as fair an assessment as can be arrived at, but with one caveat, if Trinidad was to outwork Canelo that means that he would be landing those power shot's. No one escaped a knockout when Felix was dropping those bombs of his, he knocked out many undefeated fighters, who had never been dropped let alone stopped.

Yes, in that scenario Trinidad would be landing some power shots, but the thing that I have noticed about Canelo is that with his head movement and defense it is difficult to land cleanly on him. Given all that, anyone would be in big trouble, including Canelo, if Felix were to land his best power shots. I can't imagine anyone eating a bunch of Trinidad's best shots in the same round. In any case, despite Canelo's chin, a knockout by Trinidad would be much more likely than a knockout by Alvarez.

That's exactly the way I see it, Trinidad was lethal once he was dialed in.
