man, you are delusional, if you think Bivol won because Canelo took him lightly. Bivol is just better boxer than Canelo.

People who believe Lara won generally point to his slight edge in overall punchstats, but most of those were jabs while almost all of Canelo's punches landed were power shots. Having said this, different fans focus on different things, so I don't think people are crazy for thinking Lara edged it; just that they need to watch more fights.
Uh, no he didn't. I gave you a perfect roadmap (my scorecard). Learn from it or not, your choice.

Canelo is clearly not on Bivol`s level, so he must fight all old guys he can find to look dominant again.

Canelo should win this clearly, but who knows. He was obviously overrated fighter, somehow he was seen as the favorite for Bivol fight. Who knows, maybe he even finds the way to look bad fighting old GGG.

He won't. He'll lose to someone at least on his level

The end of each combination should contain enough power in the shot to make him think twice about attacking recklessly. His stamina is lacking, so as the rounds progress pick up the volume and pace enough to make him very uncomfortable. As his tank empties, put that old man strength into those combinations, and with the added weight, we might see GGG break Ginger's will.
Literally none of that will happen

              115-113 Lara. Gave rounds 2, 4, 7-9 to Canelo.
115-113 is the very definition of a close fight!!!
There was a few close rounds in that fight too, so how can u say canelo "clearly" lost, Uncle Rog??

Canelo Alvarez vs. Erislandy Lara Results: Winner, Scorecard and Analysis
                By Brian Mazique

                Here we go again.

Another big-time fight, and another controversial decision. Canelo Alvarez (44-1-1) escaped with a split-decision victory over Erislandy Lara (19-2-2) on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but many observers thought Lara outboxed him.

ALVAREZ BEATS LARA BUT THE DEBATE ON WHO ‘REALLY’ WON CONTINUES
                By Doug Fisher

LAS VEGAS – The Canelo Alvarez-Erislandy Lara fight featured the combination of two legendary Latino boxing traditions. Alvarez, the 23-year-old matinee idol from Guadalajara, represented the Mexican school of boxing – the art of controlled aggression. Lara, the amateur world champion from Guantanamo, represented the Cuban school of boxing – mastery of the ring and technical precision.

Both junior middleweight contenders upheld the storied boxing traditions of their proud cultures during their hotly contested bout at the MGM Grand on Saturday. Alvarez marched forward and attacked the body of his elusive opponent, landing especially hard with the signature punch of Mexican boxing – the left hook to the body. Lara employed a stick-and-move strategy, making Alvarez miss and making him pay.

Unfortunately for Lara, the Mexican style of boxing is more often rewarded by professional judges and that was the case on Saturday to the delight of the Alvarez fans who packed the Grand Garden Arena.

Alvarez won a split decision by scores of 117-111 from Levi Martinez and 115-113 from Dave Moretti. Judge Jerry Roth scored the fight for Lara by a 115-113 tally. Many boxing writers and fans agreed with Roth’s score, and more than a few believe the fight could have been a draw.

There were also many fight scribes and fans who thought Alvarez deserved the decision and saw no controversy at all in the scoring. Those same observers thought Lara moved his feet more than his hands during the fight and has no right to cry “robbery.”

BS... If GGG circles away from Canelo's ridiculous telegraphed hooks and launches 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th phase attacks he'll be able to do exactly what Bivol did. Size has literally nothing to do with it - its all about boxing IQ and Canelo having incredibly slow feet!

I agree. I scored it live 116-112 for canelo. Watched it a few times after that, and the most I gave to Lara was 5 rounds. Those body shots caused him to get on his bike more than he should have. Can't score rounds for a fighter who refuses to engage. But he did box well in spots

Evidence that Canelo Oscar ordered GGG to play soft and throw the first two fights to get the giant payday. Now GGG has the leverage and doesn't have to play soft and it's as if he knows he can KO canelo with what he's got. And this is the real reason why canelo is so angry about Golovkin. He's been outsmarted and set up by the master.
I would love for all this to be true. But its not. Cool sci-fi piece though.
