  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin: I Don't Need To Fight Like Bivol To Get Advantage Over Canelo

Gennadiy Golovkin sees no reason to emulate the style of Dmitry Bivol in the upcoming trilogy fight with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. Back in May, Canelo moved up to the light heavyweight division and was outboxed over twelve rounds by WBA world champion Bivol.

You already haven't Bivol's pure boxing talent. You're a brawler geezer who tried boxing and got ****d in the rematch. Know your limits and hit the air whole fight.

Canelo struggles with boxers with skills, see Erslandy Lara, and Floyd Mayweather!

He doesn't have to box like Bivol, just use the movement and angles necessary to make Cinnabon have to move his heavy feet on defense as well as offense. When he comes in with his short bursts of power punches, use the jab and 4 to 5 punch combinations to create space for movement. The end of each combination should contain enough power in the shot to make him think twice about attacking recklessly. His stamina is lacking, so as the rounds progress pick up the volume and pace enough to make him very uncomfortable. As his tank empties, put that old man strength into those combinations, and with the added weight, we might see GGG break Ginger's will.

As much as I like golovkin does he really think he can get a decision after Two robberies? Not to mention he looked bad last fight and he's 40. It's gonna be sad to see him get stopped

As Golovkin indicates, he may not have the blistering hand speed that he has at 160 at 168, but he will punch a hole in Canelo's face. Nash out.

Chin up, GP. GGG will never be KO'd.

Define "skills." Young Canelo clearly beat Lara.

He might. It's just sad seeing a good boxer lose to someone inferior to him cause of age. Hopefully GGG retires after win or lose
