Fury has done an excellent job marketing himself as the lineal champion though.

The only way we get a 'new' one now is an Undisputed champion.

If we're talking number 1, I think it's fair to say it's Fury in most people's books, but not unfair to disagree and think it's Usyk.
New Lineal Champion was established when Klitshcko fought Chagaev.

Nope, Vitali was the WBC champion and let's face it, the better brother.

      No marketing changes that.

        The better klitschko is debatable.

Wlad was the concensus number 1 in the division, he ran it for years when Vitali was retired and Wlad vs Chagaev was legit for the lineal title.

Fury was never the lineal champ though, and Usyk is now.

No it wasn't. Some people decided they would ignore Vitali as Wladimir wouldn't fight him (naturally).

But that's not how it works.

If you can't fight the other champion, you can't become lineal.

And yes Vitali was the much better brother. Wladimir would've had 'ZERO chance'

            Yes, indeed.

Since they weren't going to fight each other they made the #1 vs #3 for the new Lineage.

What you're saying isn't wrong, I guess it's due to being a circumstance that's never been seen before where one brother is #1 and the other is #2.

But that's what they decided to go with wasn't it, they established the new Lineage with that fight, for right or wrong.

In all honesty I don't care all that much about it.

                  'They' just needed marketing material.

Luckily most boxing fans are so niave...

So Wlad beating Chagaev made Wlad the lineal champion but Fury beating Wlad didn’t make Fury the lineal champion? Play that back in your mind, it’ll come to you, that’s right, totally ******.

What fight did Usyk win to make him lineal champion? It certainly wasn’t Joshua.
