Pacquiao could of just thrown caution to the wind. Pacquiao unlike Alvarez, had that ability and stamina to fight in such a way.

But instead Pacquiao just kind of went along with Mayweather's pace, and let Mayweather dictate the pace.

Pacquiao left that fight knowing he did not leave it all in the ring.

Pacquiao should of just threw caution to the wind, and ****** to the body 'Never mind trying to land punches up stairs'.

I actually thought Pacquiao looked the more tired of the two towards the end though. I think Floyd's footwork did that to people.

I do know Pacquiao had issues with his calf muscles, so maybe this affected his ability to throw caution to the wind.

Still Mayweather was clearly there for the taking near the end of his career, bluffed his way through fights.

You are probably correct which explains why a crude brawler like Maidana made the fight competitive in a way that would have been impossible around 2007.

I don't think there's any question that Floyd was EXTREMELY talented and skilled.

**** Floyd as a person, though.

He had an ability to focus and anticipate in coming fire, You could hit him once but hardly ever with two consecutive shots. He was a great fighter early on at 120 and 135. He kind of cherry picked as he went up in weight. He also had alot of adavntages as he got older in negotiations. He played the villain perfectly and earned alot of money. However there are several fighters i would favor over him. Ray Leonard, Roy Jones, Thomas Heans, a prime Duran.
Yeah I see no way he beats the bigger Welterweights like Robinson, Leonard, Hearns etc. 130-135 hard to convincingly pick anybody over Floyd. Duran, JCC, Armstrong and Sweet Pea would all have a chance but I could also see Floyd winning those matchups. All hypothetical of course…

He was just that good, probably the most gifted defensive fighter ever, definitely top 3 in my ATG list.

                  BUT...

that doesn't take away the fact that he ducked a Prime Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan, both were nightmare fights for him and he avoided them both and instead chose to fight slower easier opponents, that's where he loses some respect but otherwise an exceptional fighter.

A pac with 70 fights under his belt, a former flyweight is Floyds best win so thats how good Floyd is. Which is a good win, just like Pac was a good win for JMM on the fourth attempt or Bradley robbing Pac is a good win and thats how good bradley was. For Bradley to get a win over Pac shows Bradley was good. Floyd, Bradley, JMM are all good fighters.
Does Floyd beating Pac make Floyd the best of the last 25 years, probably not.
