Hearn is definitely better at DOMESTIC promotion than Warren, guys like Dubois, Yarde etc would be be bigger stars under Matchroom. But Furys fame today is largely based off of breaking America with those Wilder fights, and that in turn has increased his popularity in the UK because hes viewed as the guy that managed to succeed where AJ failed in that regard, so its not really about the promoter.

Yeah this is a good point. I think Matchroom leaving Sky is going to hurt the former a lot more than the latter. Boxxer already seems to be gaining some traction.Comment

He’s done well with Joshua, but really, the marketing style Hearn’s employed is some 70s/80s sports star American throwback coming straight from an era where the guy in question was on cereal boxes, telling kids “stay in school”, and promoting some clean living ****.
Now think of that marketing model with Fury transplanted into it.
The man’s a renegade and says whatever tf he wants. More or less sells himself. Can’t see how a Hearn relationship drastically changes thingsLast edited by P to the J; 03-11-2022, 05:31 AM.Comment

If u don't like a chisora fight, u don't like boxing u g*y fake yankIts pretty easy to sell these big-goof HW's to be honest, especially to the British public ; Dereck Chisora PPV's is sufficient proof. I think Eddie Hearn needs to focus on making Devin Haney and Demetrius Andrade superstars and getting them proper fights to prove that he's a marketing genius, I'll wait.Comment

Me me me me me.
Fury's been out earning Aj since 19 (check forbes) & cracked America. AJ'sa domestic London Heavyweight that only beats shot 38-41 year olds.
Shouldn't have low balled Fury then should you slave trader junior.Comment

I remember their was a lot of buzz for Daniel Dubois and some for old slow Joe Joyce, I think that the global locked down due to COVID-19 hurt their profiles. All though Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois had just past the margin of contender status, the fact that we in America got to stream their fight on ESPN+ suggest they were known. I wish the UK did a better job at publishing their viewership numbers like we do in America, that would give us a clearer picture for public interest.
I almost said that I agree totally, but my objection to that point is that Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois, etc, aren’t exactly really well renowned round here.
By way of contrast, Whyte, AJ, and Chisora (as you say) are massive. It might be that some credit goes to Hearn, but really, I think the biggest thing is that SkySports is the most powerful sports brand in the UK, and that’s where these guys have featured. Even Fury got catapulted to the really big leagues by fighting on Sky PPV (talking vs. Wladimir)
You can say that Matchroom or Eddie Hearn deserved credit for obtaining the massive platform in SKYSPORTS for : A.J, Whyte and Chisora, and no doubt it helped his campaign at promoting them, but will his new deal with DAZN do the opposite?

And Eddie FINALLY confesses his true intentions..... he wishes he signed Tyson Fury!!
I knew it, I said it yesterday, it is easy to see, I mean he’s done 12 interviews in 9 days on Tyson! Eddie knows that brings his view count up. Hearn knows fury wins whilst AJ “talks” like a winner, but loses the big fights.Comment
