    DR,

Do you feel that Floyd should have gotten a tune-up fight coming off a two year (22 months) layoff?

    "deserved" a tune-up?

I have another question to ask you, and will do it in the next post.
In other words you're excusing Floyd from taking the toughest fights to make the biggest money fights?

            goose/gander.

Ruccish, there was nothing wrong with the rankings at all. Boldomir was correctly ranked #1 at that time. But he was still a mediocre champion, and subsequently, better fighters have come along who at that time were either young unproved prospects, or were fighting at lower weights. And Floyd hasn't fought any of them, and worse still, doesn't want to.

At the time, Boldomir was the man to beat. But one win does not a great champion make, especially when that win is against a mediocre champion.

How? Floyd went to 154 and beat DLH for 20 mill. No fighter would turn that down. Then he fought an undefeated top10 p4p Hatton (after years of Hatton turning him down). How weren't those tough fights?

When Tony called out DLH after he beat Cotto where was the outrage?

It takes two to tango...the ONLY fighter that ACTIVELY seeked a fight with Floyd was Margarito...NO ONE ELSE.

                  Until Hatton mouthed off.

I didn't mind the tune-up when he first announced it, because I thought it was a tune-up and that he would fight a top Welter in his next fight - or if he wants to fight Pac first - then in his next but one fight. But for him to make it clear now that he doesn't want to fight the top Welters makes me lose all respect for him, and as a result, and I no longer see this as a tune-up. He simply doesn't seem to want any tough fights against anybody who could test him.

So why don't those guys get lambasted for not making the fight? Why don't people criticize Cotto for turning Floyd down at 140 or Mosley doing it twice? It's just bias.
