lots of guys get over rated but when u have some people putting him as a top contender for fighter of the next decade without having won a title yet, thats next level stuff

Until Ennis proves himself, he is overrated. Respectfully. I can't say how many fighters have been placed atop of fans' mythical P4P list and now those same fighters are hated by said fans because their career isn't going in the direction most thought. Crawford comes to mind.

Everybody had Crawford beating any and every mythical challenger presented in fantasy fight threads. Now, he's a "duck" and gets called Crawfish and so on. Remember when everybody had Broner beating everybody in multiple weight classes before fights were even signed? I still remember.

So, until a fighter's proven, it's best to just keep watching and see how things pan out before crowning them the duke of all shits.

Got mad love for Ennis but he's not on anybody radar right now. Hell, we're still trying to get some of the Welterweights to fight each other....for bigger paydays....where are we with that? It all takes time. Shawn was right.
I agree with this 100%. I have seen about 3 or 4 of Boots fights and I think he is the future of boxing but until he gets a title shot then for now he is up and coming. With boxing politics and the state of boxing today, Crawford, Spence, Garcia or Thurman will not fight him. Like someone on here stated earlier, "Boots is high risk, low reward". Shawn Porter was spot on with his comments.

Porter is correct. We don't know what Boots is until he has a couple fights against other dawgs. He move down to 140 fight someone and he can move up to 154 to test himself there too. He has options and ways to show the world why he is considered by the hardcore fans an elite boxer. I think he could possibly rule 146 but not until the current crop leaves the division.

Porter seems like a smart cookie. Boots looks good. And Porter says he looks good. Boots has yet to fight top tier opponents. Porter points this out.

I don't see what's controversial about any of this.

Porter might want to look up the word "stigma."

It seems like he's mostly complimenting Ennis. But he can't blame Ennis for not getting the big fights. The top champions don't want to fight Ennis, of that I'm sure.

Well hes not wrong right now Boots passes the eye test and looks every bit like the next big thing at 147

Thing is those same ppl saying he will wash these top fighters are the same ppl who make threads after fights calling ppl bums when they squeeze out a decision win

Right. Politics won't let him face the top guys but he hasn't necessarily earned that spot just yet. There are a few tough contenders and former champs that he can continue fighting and I'm sure his path to the top will happen. It typically does.

Ennis is focused and I love that! He's hungry and ready, like most young contenders! He will have his day and I'll be watching! Back to the current and top welterweights...we're still trying to get those fights made.

Hell, one of those guys can say, "Screw it, I'm gonna fight Ennis!" If they win, what's in it for them if Ennis isn't on the radar like that? If said fighter loses, Ennis's career will progress but it's gotta be against the right guy.

                      This!

That's gotta be the reasons promoters match their fighters the way they do....business ALWAYS comes first! Fans can be the worst at times. As you mentioned, as sooooon as said fighter loses, he's suddenly a hype job that's been carefully matched throughout his career. Smh.

People are waiting to do it with Crawford and they grew impatient waiting on Canelo to get iced back in the day. Boxing fans truly create the same problems they complain about. Lol
