That's not entirely true, certainly not in this case. What would happen if Eddie won the bid? Fury wouldn't hold him to paying over 20 million? What about when Hearn had to sell the house to pay Lopez and Kambosos. Do you really think Eddie paid either less than what was owed per purse bid? Or what about when Ryabinsky bid that crazy amount for Klitschko-Povetkin years back. I can guarantee Klitschko and Povetkin got every penny.

Shyte taking a 20% purse split. Just like he deserves.
Unless he wins the fight but we all know that Fury is too much fighter for him.Comment

None of those examples are the promotors own fighters, so yes, they would've been paid in full.

The promotors own fighters end up taking a hit to get the 'home advantage'. The away fighter would obviously get paid their full amount.
In this case Whyte will get the full amount, it's Fury that would've taken a deal on his end.Comment

Yes, the split is set, but the boxers can still agree to take less outside the split - that's what commonly happens to help their promotor to bid higher in the purse and be more likely to win it.
In this case, Fury just agrees on a set value and the split would only apply to Whyte. Whyte could've done the same thing with Matchroom, but they had much less to play with, with only 20% of the purse.Comment

That's how purse bids works. I don't care if he's getting $20m or $50m, I'm simply explaining what happens at a purse split and why it was always likely that Queensbury would win it - they simply won't ever be paying $41m for it. That's a normal thing to happen in every split, but obviously the numbers are huge here as Whytes split was so low.
That’s an out and out lie. Fury is getting 80 percent of the purse to Whyte. Period. You think he’s taking only 15 or 20M so his promotion won the bid? Delusional take. He would rather get 30 and fight under matchroom. This is an easy fight for him. He’s getting 30+ million for this fight. Possibly more with the upside. If you believe otherwise, God bless.
and I hate talking economics on a BOXING site because who gives a ****? Talk about the fight. Tell me how Whyte wins. This is a new bizarre counting pockets shift that started a little over 10 years ago. Guys that can’t balance their cheque book talking about multi million dollar deals online. It’s hilarious.
They will not be paying him $33m. They were only ever bidding how much they were willing to pay Dillian. Tysons split had already been dealt with.
Again, this is normal in a purse bid.Comment

If Eddie won the bid then yes, he'd get what he'd get and he'd have to decide whether to fight. Whyte would have got whatever he had negotiated in terms of guarantee and share of revenues generated.

With TR/Queensberry in control, Fury will already have his fee sorted. It won't be 80% of the purse as a lump sum, it will be a guarantee with share of revenues built in.
Frank's purse bid never affected what Fury would earn. He's already got a contract with his promoters.Comment

Whyte is on the record as having dropped Fury multiple times in sparring. I don't think he is blatantly just lying. I think he stops the overrated Fury. Not an easy fight regardless. Fools acting as if Fury is a modern Ali or something, its hilarious.Comment

Keep in mind Fury's deal with Top Rank is coming to an end and they are financially (with ESPN) backing Warren's play. This might even be the last fight of his deal with TR. The last thing they want is for him to jump ship to MTK's front company, Probellum.... or worse, Hearn. I would be shocked if he makes less than a record purse for this fight.
