So I have to revisit and edit this post after reading through a bit more of this thread. You're taking what I said out of context. Let me clarify. Saying I cannot wait for the fight to be cancelled was basically saying, if the fight happens anywhere but in the UK the ticket sales will not be good. Therefore, the promoters will find a way to push back the fight sighting an injury to a fighter, covid protocol, etc. I could have been clearer, I knew what I meant, it was not a well thought out post on my part. Why would anyone bet with you at 2:1 when the fight anywhere between -550 to -700 in favor of Fury and Whyte is +400 to +550, depending on which sportsbook.

None of those examples are the promotors own fighters, so yes, they would've been paid in full.

The promotors own fighters end up taking a hit to get the 'home advantage'. The away fighter would obviously get paid their full amount.

In this case Whyte will get the full amount, it's Fury that would've taken a deal on his end.

Yes, the split is set, but the boxers can still agree to take less outside the split - that's what commonly happens to help their promotor to bid higher in the purse and be more likely to win it.

In this case, Fury just agrees on a set value and the split would only apply to Whyte. Whyte could've done the same thing with Matchroom, but they had much less to play with, with only 20% of the purse.

So it ain’t gonna be half the financial disaster you and the rest of Matchroom FC claim will it.
