Zurdo Ramirez, & David Benavidez, and he ran like a dog from Boo Boo Andrade similar to Khan running from Kell Brook for a decade or more. He tried wait for GGG to age out, while he was waiting to come more into his own prime. He's dirty. He strategically fights ppl at the time he feels is to his best advantage, rather than when he is being called out by them. And he uses drugs, like him and Oscar Valdez got caught with. Same camp, same trainer, different PED.

Canelo passed Chavez long ago, yeah he went 89-0 against elote cart pushers, cab drivers, goat farmers before getting smacked by a cross dresser and quitting twice.Canelo only lost once against TBE and has been undefeated since. Benevidez and Charlo have done nothing to deserve a Canelo fight they dont have any fights with Plant,BJS,Callum Smith or any guys like this.Comment

Nacho said what the rest of us Mexican, non-Canelo groupies have been saying for a while. He’s looked great against the right opposition but still has a way to go to be a “great”. We all saw Mayweather, Lara and a past his prime 37 year old GGG reiterate Nacho’s point. It’s easy to look good against the weakest division at 168 or against a past their prime Kovalev who was taken through the ringer 2 months prior. He’s no Chavez Sr. or Finito Lopez but with the right wins, he can one day be there.Last edited by PoserExposer; 01-26-2022, 09:53 PM.Comment

Yup Beristain is exactly right. But it’s not Canelo’s fault that he doesnt have great oppositions like the Barreras, Marquez, Morales, and Pacquiao that will catapult him to that next ATG status.
Canelo is below Marquez...Comment

Nacho is simply saying what's I've always said. You can't capture the heart of a real fan of boxing by fighting sparring partners like Avni Yildirim, British tomato can Rocky Fielding, light punching runners like Plant and B Job Saunders, gun shy Callum Smith, washed up Potato Vodka addict Kovalev, past prime guys with names like Jacobs, Mosley, and Cotto, Lame Liam Smith, thin chin Amir Khan, a fat marijuana and perico filled Chavez jr., El Turtle Angulo, a washed up James Kirkland without Anne Wolfe, Austin sea Trout with a pickle and side of hush puppies, getting smoked by Mayweather, ran like a thief in the 1st GGG fight, win dubious decion against Lara, come forward in the 2nd GGG fight but still get outboxed and get your eye busted open in the 12th round, people like Carlos "******" Baldomir, Matthew Hatton, and the list goes on and on and on. Old past prime guys, light punchers and runner, smaller guys coming up, guys who have been knocked cold many times, etc. His whole record is made up of this kinda crap. He has no Salvador Sanchez vs Wilfredo Gomez or Chavez Vs Meldrick Taylor or Marquez vs Pacquiao level fight anywhere on his resume. And when he did step up to a real one, he was schooled. he is a great fighter, like Nacho said, but not based on his carefully matched resume. He is not a fight anyone at anytime kind of fighter like a James Toney. Not by farComment

It's ridiculous for Nacho to complain about his fights not being more exciting when most the Mexican greats fought in the lower divisions where fighters tend to have higher workrates so stylistically you can't make the comparison and Canelo's opponents are typically uncharacteristically tentative against him including guys with power who've never been reluctant to trade. His defense combined with accurate power makes opponents reluctant to sit on their punches because they'll usually come up swinging and eat a hard counter for their trouble. But even if they manage to land something good, he happens to have an iron chin and is liable to shoot back with something harder of their own. Opponents tend to opt to tread water throwing arm punches while he lands the harder and cleaner shots.
There was more room for criticism when he was younger and more stationary which allowed opponents more room to tread water, but from the GGG fight onward he's consistently pressing and looking to set up traps and exploit openings and he's methodically breaking guys down or putting them in survival mode. Simply put, Nacho was a hater early on and is reluctant to give it up, although even he disagreed with Marquez at the end saying he could still change his mind in the Mexican GOAT conversation. The irony is that people used to complain about Marquez and not give him his due because he was more of a counterpuncher earlier in his career.
It's been nearly 11 years since Canelo won his first title and he's at the top of his game and at the pinnacle of the sport, you don't have the kind of longevity or development by not making use of all your tools.Comment

How ******. He didn't even see the fight and he's quoting anonymous Tijuana cab drivers who say Plant took a dive? What a joke. Also, Canelo had his "endearing" fight in the 2nd GGG fight when he best Mr. Mexican Style at his own game. And I was rooting for GGG full on. And I think the Mexican people had a lot of pride in his Cotto victory. Not his fault he's not a walking punching bag and has a great defense.Comment
