He cuts easily, and head clashes are caused because dudes get so wild and frustrated trying to hit him cos they cant! so they rush forward and lead with their heads when they attack. Plus he is a southpaw, and its a regular occurence when a lefty fights a righty.
I dont buy that ****. 3 different belts' champions 'didnt want none'? even 'avoided' fighters can get fights, it just depends on how how much they want the fights.

and I went ahead and checked, Calderon only had 3 wins over top ten rated fighters during his entire Minimumweight title reign.
    Daniel Reyes-#3
    Roberto Carlos Leyva-#8
    Edgar Cardenas-#10

call me crazy, but thats not too great. without that 0 in the loss column, no one would look twice at Calderon. hell, theyd probably look away from him on purpose, the guys strategy is run for your life and land 3 punches a round.

      Yeah, they didnt want none

It was hard the guy to get fights down there.

His strategy is not running, you people who call it running do not know boxing! He boxes effectively, uses great pivots, lateral movement, counters. Tremendous boxer. You however know nothing about boxing, I suppose you think Gatti was a better fighter than Calderon.

He would be obliterated by 105lb belt holder Roman Gonzales.

give me a break, its running. the man does as little damage as possible to win the round, and avoids confrontation completely the rest of the time. he has skill, but thats some awful stuff to watch.

and its simply garbage to say 'everyone was ducking me, which excuses me from fighting top fighters. rate me highly!'.
If he really wanted the fights, he could have gotten them. he would have had to make some sacrifices, but that happens.

fact of the matter is he fought 3 top ten ranked fighters in his entire title reign at minimumweight. I aint giving him too much credit for that.

You probably don't even know what pivoting and moving laterally is. Just shut up, and stick to watching Gatti attack some guys hand with his face.

Or that most of the top ten fighters were japanese and japs don't recoginze the WBO....

Really the only good fighter at 105 at the time was Eagle Kyowa, who beat Mayol more convincing then Calderon has.

youre a numbskull who doesnt even attempt to make a real argument, and instead brings up something random on the offhand chance that Ill change the subject to defend my boxing knowledge.

Calderon's MiniW run was hardly impressive, and his total lack of aggression is just sad. the guy struggled with Mayol, who was easily beaten every time he stepped up, and got KOed by a nobody.

pretend all you want, but the most damage that is inflicted in Calderon's fights is when he clashes heads with his opponent.
