Great for his era? No, I don't think so. He's very good but his level of competition has been inconsistent and his performances have been as well. His best wins, Derevyenchenko and J-Rock, haven't aged well with both losing since then. He's looked less than impressive against guys who have been beaten more convincingly by others.

I never once thought of Mall as a great fighter. Mell has a better claim to that and he's not great either. Both are really good fighters though. No shame in that.
