Loma is a favorite of mine but let's be honest -- what happened in the 7th was just taunting that went wrong. Ultimately he lost his opportunity to get the stoppage because he was arrogant enough to think he could stop, taunt Commey and his corner, and then still get the KO later. Just didn't work out that way

Well put. The evidence is there for everybody to see. It's what you think about the evidence that decides your view.

Could be that too. That's option 3.

He eased up. But why? Three options:

            1. Didn't want to crush Commey.
            2. Took it easy to avoid unnecessary damage to himself.
            3. Wanted Live rounds.

            Or else:
            4. He didn't ease up and simply couldn't bring Commey to the edge again.

Watching the fight, I don't think it's #4. According to what he said, it's #1. That's my view.

Like one poster said, it was a little cringe to see him try to get the corner to stop it. That's out of place, especially because that won't work; it's not an acceptable method. What corner would stop a fight just because the competitor asks for it? More likely, they'd prolong it just so they don't look like wuzzes.

Nah, not. Loma is undersized at 135 and he was never a hard puncher.

Or, he accepted the "Franchise" belt to take on a more difficult and more relevant opponent. Kinda depends how you look at it.

He dropped the belt. The franchise thing was something Bob engineered as cover because he didn’t want to risk a Loma v Haney fight.

I guess it depends on how honest you want to be.

Sounds like you are privy to inside industry info. Must be nice

That just isn't how it sounds to someone like me without that knowledge. To me it sounded legit but I was ignorant that it was Bob the whole time orchestrating everything from behind the curtain.

Fair enough. That is why I keep asking if Haney was so easy why Bob wouldn’t just have Loma dust him off and get him another mil plus?

I just find it hard to have certain opinions given what really happened.
