I thought that quote was blown out of proportion, actually. He said it was slave wages compared to what Naseem Hamed was getting.

Hamed was getting way more (of course, you attract big crowds and ratings, you get more $$$)

I still think Mosley should just scrap the Clottey fight and see what Mayweather has to say right after the JMM fight. With HBO wanting to push him back to Jan. 30th why not, I am sure he could still get Clottey if Mayweather doesn't want to fight him.

It just never lined up right for Mosley and Mayweather to fight, but they could be perfectly aligned in about a 9 days from now.

Done to death. SSM was movin up to WW when Mr boat buyer challenged him before. He was rebuildin himself after 2 str8 Winky losses. And he couldn't undercut the boss after the Vargas rematch. Neither guy fears the other, circumstances have simply blocked the fight. Mr boat buyer deserves a tuneup after a long layoff and goin str8 to SSM upon return woulda been bad for him. Mr boat buyer can still fight SSM next yr if he beats Clottey. He won't tho.

But anyway ts its not his big mistake, his big mistake was was fighting the likes of Winky/Forrest while others like Hoya/Trinidad dodged them (Trinidad till way later). Simply cause they were extreme high risk low reward fights. Shane could have gone through out his career with 0 loses an still have a stacked resume with some better matchmaking.

Guy was being talked up with the likes on Leonard, dont get me wrong he is still an ATG imo, but just not one of the very top ones unless he does something special (still possible)
            Snoo,

If you take off the Oscar win, it would leave a massive "who did he beat?" on Shane's resume. Yeah, he was being talked about as "the next Sugar". i looooved Shane back then. But to merit that "sugar", he would have needed to beat somebody more than Oscar.

Shane's first victory over Oscar was in 2000. He beat Margarito in 2009. During that nine year stretch, what was his BEST win?...

            Do tell.

Clottey might just end up fighting on the Williams-Pavlik undercard and Mosley fight Berto in January.

I don't mind that at all.

ricky was in no position to dictate the purse strings.

Seriously... when's the last time you heard a Mayweather negotiation falling apart.

Not a speculation like Arum floats. But an actual negotiation? I can't think of one.

But since that time, he has been easy to deal with. Ask Schaefer.
false. right now, floyd always demands the bigger cut.

He won't? Or he shouldn't? Lets face facts, Shane is legless. I will continue to preach that. Mayweather would beat Shane in an easy non-competitive bout, where most will cry BORING.

I appreciate you weighing in. But i have been on this board for a month. i can't vouch for what went on before me.

This is what I'd like to discuss while I have my friday evening pint. Ignore thread if need be.

                    You cool w/ that?

Undeservedly... or deservedly? PBF walked away, and let Oscar go do his thing. No problem. Right?
