That I agree on coming from a Mosley and Floyd fan.

But those fights with Estrada and Cruz were to get his confidence back. He lost twice to Forrest, a NC against Marquez, a lack luster performance against Hoya, and the craziest business move of all-time to fight Winky. Should have fought Hoya again or another tuneup to get ready for Tito. The Vargas fights were to get him back in the spot light. Both were seen to be shot at that time.

I wish they would have fought in Novemeber of 06. The funny thing is they still have a chance to fight in 2010. I believe its going to happen

the dates don't matter. GBP is oscar's company and so oscar got first dibs on floyd; its as simple as that.

Jin was his business manager. Business comes before personal feelings. Mayweather would've paid much more than the Collazo fight Shane ended up getting in early 07'.

I'm sure Mayweather preferred Mosley over Baldomir, which would've been a bigger event and likely a bigger purse, and I doubt dental appointments were more important to Shane than a big fight with PBF, but DLH and Schaefer are the bosses.

            Steal,

I do not think that Shane brings the money to the table that you think he does. Nobody has gotten a huge payday by fighting Shane. If SM could generate bucks, he would generate bucks for himself first. Sabes?

SM is a terrific fighter. He's just not a terrifically commercial fighter.

Why didn't Shane opt for or consider or open negotiations for a fight w PBF instead of fighting Estrada and Cruz?

PBF was not on Oscar's radar then.

Shane turned Floyd down because he was chasing big money fights that he usually doesn't get, which is the exact same situation he is in now. He didn't want a high risk low reward fight with Floyd. I don't blame Floyd for payback against Mosley who is a high risk low reward fight for him, but I still want to see it.

Yes the dates matters, Mosley could have fought Mayweather if he wanted to but he didnt want to..It has nothing to do with oscar, Otherwise why would he tell Mayweather to go fight Margarito???

It's not that he's a huge draw, it's that he'd provide more money than the OTHER guys around there.

Boxing's not exactly filled with big name stars with drawing power.

Shane wanted to rebuild, and plus Mayweather already had a title bout with Gatti in which he'd fought two eliminators for.

Mayweather was then set to fight Judah for the WW title in late 05'. It was set for November, but Top Rank ended up winning the bid for Rahman-Klitschko in November, a PPV bout, and put that on first priority, delaying the PBF-Judah fight, and then Judah lost to Baldomir anyway.

Why would Mayweather want Mosley at this time, when he had fights with two title-holders coming up, including the recognized champ at 147?

Sure he mentioned him in an interview, but people always talk about possible opponents to build hype. Mayweather had better options at the time. I think he was just keeping the public interest open at the time.

It wouldn't make much sense to fight two eliminator bouts and then just fight someone else instead.
