Champ. Slow down , and listen.

Did you listen to the first vid. That was 2005. Floyd was willing to move up a division to face Shane. Instead, Shane fought Estrada and Cruz.

I realize that you have that Orgullo Borinquen. But you can't think that Estrada was EVER a bigger fight than Mayweather.

"Go fight someone else" is not a duck? What is?

Was there an offer on the table? Were there negotiations?

That's what I pay attention to, not interview "call-outs" that for some reason get boxing fans' ****s hard, as if fights are made there and not in negotiations with lawyers discussing millions of dollars.

Mayweather had just fought in two consecutive WBC 140 lb. elimination bouts, and set to fight Gatti for his first PPV main event.

It was always bad timing, but the fight should happen IMO in late 2010 should both guys keep winning.

            .
You're moving the target around. When Shane was calling Floyd out this year, there wsn't an offer on the table. Yet, the fora were going bananas.

In boxing, you don't start with a written offer. This isn't real estate. They aren't that pragmatic. It has started with verbals, and then offers are submitted when you get close-ish.

How can you negotiate when someone won't respond?

What's in it for MM at that point? A win over a 39 yr old...or a loss to a 39 yr old WW.

But if we know the truth we can't bash Mayweather for ducking everyone?!

Public call-outs are often just for hype.

After Hatton "called-out" Mayweather and the fight was signed, Ray Hatton revealed that they had been in negotiations for over a year.

Mayweather had already fought in two straight eliminators for Gatti's best, why waste that? He probably wanted to keep some public interest for a Mosley fight in the future so he mentioned him.

Mosley was more interested in rebuilding at this point anyway. Remember he turned down a Margarito bout as well and fought on the undercard of Margarito-Cintron 1.

One of the biggest paydays he can get, and another title.

Mayweather had the November date (2006) so Mosley wasnt interrupting Oscar from fighting Mayweather in a later date, so all the excuse about Mosley step aside for Oscar is BS, Mosley or Jin just doesnt like people like Mayweather and Zab judah and thats it.
