This fight actually reminds me of Tyson/Douglas more than any fight I've seen.

Teo, like Tyson had a very turbulent personal life and had just got divorced from Robin Givens.

    Teo just got separated.

Teo's been open about being suicidal 3x in the past year.

Tyson (allegedly) purposely crashed his car into a tree a few months before the Douglas fight.

Tyson had a bunch of blood suckers & yes men around him.

Teo has his father as a combination of Don King & the hangers on who act as a bad influence.

In both cases, I don't think either guy was "exposed" as much as I just think both guys were extremely mentally fxcked up by a combination of too much fame and money too soon, while having too many distractions, and having too many bad influences telling guys what they wanna hear while draining their pockets.

I don't think Teo loses this fight 6 months ago, but the decline of his life has just created a very delusional and screwed up young man.

Now, tell me this dude looks like he's in his right mind.

So teo fought a strategically ****** fight because he was.... weight drained?

and his dad offered conflicting advice, as in take your time, box and then 15 seconds later saying knock him out already, because teo was weight drained?

yeah that excuse makes a lot of sense.

This is awful. How is Teo supposed to grow and move forward if he and his dad/trainer are in complete denial and wrongfully claiming they won the right in dominant fashion.

Lopez Sr. & Jr were hyping the fight with such condescending trash talk that fans could’ve cared less that (the many) postponements took a toll on Teos growing frame. Admittedly, in this fight, Teo was not the aggressive fast twitch phenom that beat Lomachenko.

This last version of Teo had to dig deep the entire fight in order to simply land two point combinations. His three punch combos weren’t nearly as crisp as Kambosos (Teos proven capability at that weight to respond in kind might really be over)….. In the end, their big mouths did them in, vicarious big headed talk off that temp signature win.

He kind of reminds me of Amir Khan, with a better chin, and more power. Lopez is better than Khan imo, but Lopez is showing similarities. While some rematches didn’t happen because of the other side, for one reason or another, Khan has failed to secure rematches for his losses, or rematching fighters who gave him a tough fight.

Prescott: Khan was KTFO by Prescott in 1 round. Never rematched him. Khan just didn’t want this rematch at all. He pretty much ignored this loss.

Peterson: To be fair, I had Khan beating Peterson. This rematch was actually signed but was cancelled after Peterson failed a drug test. This rematch not happening wasn’t Khan’s fault.

DSG: Never rematched him because DSG rejected it, laughed Khan off.

Canelo: This is understandable. It was a totally ****** match to begin with. There’s no need to see a mismatch twice. Nobody wantee to see Mayweather vs Sharmba Mitchell II, or Pacquiao vs David Diaz II, GGG vs Brook II. Zero interest.

Edit: Pressed “post reply” by mistake.

Julio Diaz: This was a huge struggle for Khan. This fight took place in Khan’s backyard, essentially. And Khan barely won 114-113, 115-113, 115-112, and was knocked down.

Crawford: It is obvious why Khan does not want this rematch. He used a body punch to quit the fight due to a “low blow”. I need to rewatch because I don’t remember, but if I remember correctly, it was not low, he just wanted out.

Teofimo Lopez is headed to this direction.
he thinks fights will be easier at 140 lol. commey, lomachenko and kambosos are easy peasy compared to subriel matias, jose ramirez, regis prograis and josh taylor. josh is slipping though. i would like him to fight lomachenko and crawford and retire, lomachenko to retire next year too. don't let anyone use you to build his name when you pass your peak.
Why not? - there's a good chance you got there because another fighter pass his peak gave you the opportunity.

At the end records and legacy are only important on forum boards like these, and that means not important at all.

It's like "Money" says, it's all about the money.

If you can grab a few good paydays on the way down why not?- Just don't set yourself up to take a beating.

But legacy, legacy is nonsense, never give up the money just to gain the admiration of a bunch of geeks (us) on a social media platform.

Lopez has talent. It could be 100% legit that at 135 he was no longer able to fight well. It could also be 100% true his only win of value was because Lomachenko's Dad was giving his son as crap of corner advice as Lopez' Dad did and spotted Lopez the first 6 rounds.

Guess we will find out when he moves up to 140. God Bless and God Speed, Lopez family. Let's see how this works out for ya.

What?? How can you not take them at their words? I mean, they seem like such stand up, honest, reality based people....

Khan was way better than Lopez under Roach (he hated the wars, but his chin was ass without them). Lopez legit sucks as a boxer i.e. not intelligent. He was jumping into shots vs Magdaleno too. He always leaps, has stamina problems, and has sht defense that saw him pieced up by Nakatani;s jab and looking like a Pez dispenser vs Loma;s combos (guys don’t usually get hit by full combo’s, but Lopez manages it). He’s highly flawed and his strength is just strength, durability and speed. But he also has a history of getting slumped in sparring, that’s that defense. He doesn’t have much power neither, it’s strength, he wont ever KO a top level guy like Tank did to Santa Cruz, his technique isn’t that good, too much weightlifting. I’d say Khan had more power than Lopez.
