Saturday was a different scenario though. Lopez is weight drained and could have vacated and had a couple of strong fights at 140 this year, with the promise of a big 2022 fighting for a world title. His rep would be intact right now. But he chose to take a struggle, for a fight most people weren't too bothered about. Josh isn't weight drained. And it has big significance in the UK. And if it wasn't for Catteral Stepping aside Josh would still be chasing undisputed right now. So his reasons are sound. He may well take another at 140 after Catteral if the right fight is presented. I'm only basing my opinions off of the interviews I have seen, and I haven't missed many, and you have to take him at face value. Especially as, unlike Teo, he's a helluva lot more honest.

Yeah, that's a big difference! I just don't see Crawford taking that fight! Vergil Ortiz Jr. is #1 with WBC and WBO! If no Spence, I think that's the fight he would take, especially being a free agent!

Furthermore it didnt take a killer to expose him either. George is ok but he gets beat by a few at 135. My advice to him is just keep quiet and work. Teo can come again believe it or not he just needs to get rid of his dad as trainer
BINGO! You are absolutely right. He hyped that kid up so much there was no way he was going to live up to it. Also, the "knockout everybody" crap. Speed beats power 9 out of 10 times. I know, I know, you gotta be accurate and be able to box as well. Also, daddy said "“We dictated the fight from the beginning aggressively." A pro trainer should at least be familiar with scoring a professional fight. The benchmark is effective aggression. Kambosos was slipping, pulling, and countering the majority of Teo's punches. Lopez was over aggressive, and Kambosos set him up for that right hand in the first round beautifully. As for going up in weight, Kambosos is an inch and a half taller than Lopez. He can easily carry the weight, without loosing much speed. Another thing that factored into it was experience. And with experience comes maturity. Teo lost his composure a couple times. George was composed, business like, yet was aggressive when he needed to be.
I'd like to see a Kamosos / Lomachenco fight. Talk about a chess match! Hmmmm......

The whole world saw the Lopez's get robbed. The. whole. world. The whole world does NOT include NSB it appears as I have not seen one person here, not a single solitary person here, say they saw Lopez win, which in the few short years i've lurked about the place is a first for me, because there's usually always that one guy saying the rest of us are crazy and DKSBB etc, etc. I believe at the end of the fight, on the RBR thread, I saw one, possibly two, posters say they saw a draw. Usually there's always the one oddball going against the grain, but this fight was such a beatdown, and the Lopez's are that genuinely despised, no one gave the dude the fight. When not even a handful of the hardcore super jaded internet fans try and claim you won, you KNOW you got your as$ handed to you. Last, I don't think he needs a new trainer at all. I wouldn't mind seeing this scenario play out one or two more times.

Teo Snr should suggest the same, but you know that won't happen. Ego is getting in the way. If they can't recognize broke, they can't fix things. I'm not saying Teo is a bad fighter, but when your Dad is telling you your doing well and winning, and its clear that he's not? Your never going to be able to make the correct adjustments. Ego and emotion cost him the fight, not a lack of ability. And it will cost them more if they don't address the issue. That's not to take away from Kambosos, he was great on the night, and many underestimated him. But I don't see him cleaning out the division.
            totally agree

Yeah I don't think Crawford wants it next either. I think Crawford is after Thurman imo. Ortiz Jr is a good fight for him and he's proven at 147, whereas Josh isn't. Proven, yes, just not at 140. Ortiz Jr is a fight I like for Josh also. Big entry statement at 147, and would build up a future Crawford fight nicely. But I can't see it happening. Ortiz Jr should do his WBC eliminator with Avanesyan. He wins that all day long, and gives him a big fight with Spence.

I hope Ortiz Jr. fights his eliminator too, that is unless Crawford or Spence offers him a fight!

Only part of this delusional rant I agree with is the part about knocking people out.

I firmly believe every fighter should go in there and do their very best to get a stoppage, not just because the fans love it, but because we know how sketchy boxing can be sometimes. But in this case, Kambosos won the fight congratulations to him.

By the way Teofimo is talking about a robbery yet wants no part of a rematch? That is strange. Did Antonio Tarver refuse a rematch or did he request one after calling robbery?
