These are great numbers for Canelo against an opponent with this level of name recognition during current economic times.

With better promotion they should be able to surpass these numbers on the traditional May 5 holiday weekend next year.

Canelo is a mega star there is no doubt about it but hats off to Caleb Plant from the time this thing was signed off he has certainly played his part in selling this.

What does interest me is that this Canelo vs plant fight did twice as much on gate as the Canelo vs Saunders fight even though the Eddie Hearn sweet carolines bragged about 70k in a stadium. Canelo v plant literally doubled the profit on gate alone. both of those numbers were after canelo fought Floyd and not his first Ppv. As a matter of fact, Canelo’s fight with Liam smith was after he fought Floyd, Angulo, Lara, khan and Cotto.
