Canelo sold 300k range vs Angulo and Liam smith. Has only cracked 1 mil as the A side against 2 opponents. Couldn’t even break a mil vs Cotto. Just sold 800 k, which is way less than a washed up old Floyd fighting a YouTuber with hardly any boxing experience. You can’t argue numbers. I went out on a bar crawl with buddies for a bday party in the city (Chicago) a week before Canelo vs Plant and I remember seeing 4 bars advertising that they were showing the Canelo vs Plant fight and not one was advertising ufc and I thought damn that is a sign. I know Chicago has a huge Mexican population but I thought that was telling.

Not to mention that Canelo vs Plant did over a $18 million dollar gate and more than any ufc/mma card ever in history. Big time Boxing just delivers different imo. Word is that Canelo vs Plant also did 33 million viewers on Mexican TV.

Not bad at all. Even after the UFC came to prominence many years ago, I still always preferred boxing, and still do.

I'll hand it to them though, watched some of the last one, really good fights. Boxing promoters should start to actually put on decent undercards, because on most occasions it's terrible.
