Win or lose i believe plant will put up a good fight proving to the op that he was a good opponent.

I actually think he wins and wide but i fear a robbery.

Im really enjoying the quality opinions in this thread... I say that with no irony intended... Dan Cov RJJ, etc... Could not say it better myself. Plant is physically a bigger man, which gives him some protection against Canelo's power and gives him a little pop. Plant has faster feet, and has fought at 168 long enough to be comfortable and stalwart in the division. Canelo is a great fighter but if you look at middle weight and above, Canelo is best as a middle weight. His power does carry, but so does the resistance to it with the bigger guys he fought.

          You smoking good stuff.

I think Plant has the style to win but he's not going to box perfectly enough to win.

he's gonna get KO'd after outboxing Canelo for 3 maybe 4 rounds because he lost focus at some point.

These guys hes fighting are simply not very goodl, not a surprise hes looking like superman up at that division some of the efforts them opponents put up against him were a god damn disgrace, kovalev, saunders, smith all turned up for a paycheque, nothing more and nothing less, no real gameplan or will to win just happy to be there. Youve got fighters like usyk clearing out a division then taking 3 belts off heavy weight champ as underdog being rated below some guy hiding in some crap division and going up or down depending on whether theres a vulnerable opponent there, you can bet that if beterbiev looks sloppy in next couple of fights and starts to slow down canelo will be up to LHW. Knowledgable posters know hes conning the fans but guess a lot of casuals are impressed with it , guess the names hes beat look great on paper but 99 percent of them were either controversial decisions or fighter was way past their best or both.

lmao you've just described GGG entire career
but somehow when he fought all his scrubs of the month he was the greatest thing ever. All his fans had no problem when he did it but now that the shoe is on the other side you females get all hurt. I find it hilarious that Canelo is going to unify all the belts in little over a year while GGG tried his entire career in a dead division with no success and is now forced to go to another country so he can keep fighting his scrubs of the month. For god sakes Lemiux is one of his signature wins you can't make this up

Plant is a decent fighter let's not pretend he isn't. Although the usual PBC brigade raise him high based on the eye test over his lack of resume yet do the exact opposite when it comes to non PBC fighter Terrence Crawford and even though he is a 3 weight world champion and an undisputed champion he is constantly crapped on for his lack of resume and we are told the eye test means nothing.

Plant stylistically is far better than BJS and Callum Smith. Many will be shocked how much trouble he’ll give Canelo this fight.

Plant better do more than win the first round or two while Canelo feels him out. I’m seeing more people giving him a real shot at the win or straight up picking him to win than any opponent since GGG. I don’t get it at all. I still think that BJS was a harder fight based on styles and the southpaw stance. An orthodox fighter with pillows in his gloves relying on handspeed and footwork just sounds like a larger Paulie. We’ll find out tonight I guess.

It’s going to have to be one of those Buster Douglas type performances. Plant has the tools but he doesn’t have the experience at this level so his confidence may mostly be on the surface. If he can win a few rounds early, he might actually start to truly believe. Tools and real confidence can be a tough nut to crack.

I've seen so many bodyshot predictions also and while it could potentially happen when was the last time he put someone down with a bodyshot? Was is all the way back when he fought Smith? Not Callum, the other one he fought years back.

Jacobs who didn't even wake up until near enough mid-point in the fight took 5 rounds off him. A washed up Kovalev who was just flicking out some pathetic jab took just as many until his glass jaw got checked. If those guys can take 5 rounds off why can't a better boxer who is a lot faster, sharper, more athletic and actually coming too win?
A guy who unlike those don't give a **** about Canelo, his aura or fans opinions. Unlike those guys he isn't going in thinking he has lost already.

Plant is going to surprise a lot of people. This guy can ****ing box and seems to have a great mindset.
How highly do you rate his ring IQ because Canelos is best in the business and picking up on fighters patterns.
