I agree on Cotto and Kovalev but they were still good wins. Jacob’s was on the best run of his career, he was clearly in his prime. Saunders was in his prime, Smith was in his prime, Trout was in his prime.

As I said, like him or not, you can’t really question Canelo’s resume, it’s top class.

Because Canelo, in his position as a star/superstar, is always going to get the rounds he needs to win fights like that. It is virtually impossible to beat him on the cards. The judges make sure of that.

I get that, completely, but how can you call it a robbery when it was close? I see a robbery as what happened to Sweat Pea vs Chavez Sr. that was a robbery, not even close./

That was a close fight where you can certainly make a reasonable case that Canelo won.

No need to blame the judges or cry robbery.

Cotto(lineal mw champ & legend who ggg took step aside money from)

Lara got his ass whooped which only haters refute
Trout- got dropped & badly hurt & with open scoring continued to avoid attacking while getting beaten

ggg1(went to gggs division & had him scared to attack Canelo on the ropes all night & landed every punch combo in highlight reel flashy fashion while limiting ggg to arm punches) & outlanded him in body shots 6 to 56

Lets add more shall we-Jacobs-prime champion who was considered Canelos biggest threat, who Abel Sanchez/Ggg said Canelo was scared of & would never have the balls to fight, Canelo schooled him landing 2x as many punches.

Kovalev who this entire site said"Canelo is just name dropping,he will duck him, Kovalev by murder"(I can prove Callum Smith was thought of as the boogieman to Canelo before Canelo went to 168)

In between these fighters hes fought underrated champs like Liam Smith(who actually did very well v Canelo in hindsight comparison to many other"more dangerous"),Billy Joe Saunders who countless (like you) were saying was too skillful for Canelo (Canelos worst opponents are top 5 on anyone elses resume near his weightclasses)

At 31 yrs old Canelo is on the verge of having won his 17th title in 4 weightclasses
Mosley was just about done, and fighting at his worst weight class. "Lara got his ass whooped"? That statement is categorically false. No one has ever whooped Lara. He makes sure that doesn't happen. The Golovkin fights are definitely favoring Canelo, especially that first one, considering how he gassed out late. I'm a fan of Canelo, but let's not overrate or underrate him. Let's just appreciate what he is doing. But this is NSB, where you're either the greatest or a bum. There is no middle ground.

Jacob and Saunders have never been elite and never will be. Kovalev was shot and he took a dive.
You can do this to any fighter and their resume. Nobody has fought the competition Canelo has the past decade. Not 1 single fighter. And Canelo has arguably won all but 1 fight. You could make a case for him losing a few more than 1, but he's still the top competitor.

If Plant somehow beats Canelo it doesn't mean a whole lot. Maybe Plant will also go on to be elite ? Maybe Plant just has Canelo's number? Hell, JMM had Pac's number but JMM was not some freak elite fighter...he was just the yin to Pac's yang. Maidana gave Floyd tough fights so does that make Maidana ATG? Of course not.

Canelo is a big favorite but as everyone says anything can happen. Nonetheless Canelo is the favorite for a reason.

Well if you can't get to 6 or 7 rounds, then it is a robbery.

If you have a lot of fights where you routinely get 2 to 3 to 4 rounds more than you deserve, that is a huge deal.

This isn't some 'oh he got dealt a good hand' situation. The guy needs to do less than the average fighter in the same situations, to get the rounds he needs to win (or draw). There is no ignoring that, or explaining that away. It isn't a one off situation, it happens whenever he (and similar fighters like him) fight.

Lol, no, you can't find 6 rounds for Canelo in either fight, if you are an honest man/and know what you're watching.

It's OK. GGG is a great fighter too, and truthfully even at an advanced age is a tough matchup for Canelo (and most guys). There is no shame in coming up short to him a couple times.

You were talking about the Lara fight not Golovkin.

But the Golovkin fights were close too.
