Comments Thread For: Carl Froch: I Think I Would Have Been Too Much For Canelo in My Prime
Carl Froch says he would have relished a fight against Canelo Alvarez during his heyday and believes he would have had too much in his arsenal for the Mexican great.

I always liked Froch & he was the villain with his beautiful girl beside him all the time. He was like the perfect heel in wrestling. Arrogant to the very end of his career & still the same in retirement…he was the greatest of alltime in his own mind…
As tough and resilient as Froch was, I believe that Canelo’s body attack would’ve made the difference in their hypothetical matchup. Froch had elite level stamina and a granite chin, so I figure that Canelo would attack his body from the get go. Froch was tough as hell though, so he would’ve given Canelo a hellacious fight and made Canelo dig very deep to earn that victory. Canelo would probably take this fight by split decision or UD. I’m not sure if he would’ve been able to stop Froch.
I suspect Canelo would've won a decision but he'd have known he's in a fight for sure.
The '68 division that Canelo's [nearly] cleared out has been a bit thin on quality. That's not his fault but it does make you wonder how he would've done in that Ward, Froch, Kessler, Bute era. A good group of seasoned career 168lbers in their prime.

Callum Smith beat Groves more decisively than Froch wdym.
