Is Wilder still the biggest puncher in history?

He's got to be up there because you'd be hard pressed to find someone who says Wilder is a good boxer, lol.

Alas he has an Olympic Bronze medal, was a long reigning world champion whether or not you could pick the bones out of the opposition and to date as a pro only Fury has beaten him. Insane run for someone who can't box. He can't box. In relative terms at this level the man can't f.uckin box.

Has there ever been anyone like that before and had that kind of success? It can only be because he turns the lights out and obviously has some sort of innate sense of closing distance quicker than anyone expects and sparking them.

I mean even someone like Spzilka was looking world class in there vs Wilder until he got sent to the moon.

Wilder is incredible. Absolute one off. We will never see the like again so I hope he sticks around a few more years if God willing he is healthy enough.

I'd love to see him in there with Ruiz, Joyce, Chisora, and Whyte. Absolute fire match ups.

I dunno what an equivalent would be. Like a terrible footballer (soccer) who scores every game regardless.

History shows the heavier guy usually wins in the heavyweight division. MIke Tyson was the exception besides Wilder but Wilder is 1 and 1 against actual legit top guys who can actually box .

Wilders knockout record is inflated because he gets outboxed and relies on stoppages .

I don’t fully trust Furys chin to be any marker for hardest puncher even though he was nearly 280 ,it shows Wilder should be top 10 but it’s guys like Wlad Klitschko who hit harder but he wasn’t marketed like that ,Wilder was and had major hype building that story with soft touches .

Biggest puncher in history they said.

If you think any of the decent contenders won't beat Wilder to a pulp - you're on yer own.
Overrated power but still hits like a mules kick. He gained my respect last night

If we're just talking one punch power I'd say top 5 in HW history. Fury is the only guy to beat him and he was hurt badly in the 2 fights that Wilder landed big. There are fights Foreman, Shavers and other huge punchers had where they couldn't get rid of lesser opponents.

His right hand is most like the single most powerful punch in boxing history.

If you listen to people who’ve sparred him (along with other HWs) they say his power is off the charts. Rating him higher than Wlad.

Wlad is most likely number 2. I’ve heard sparring partners say he hits significantly harder that foreman, Tua and even Lennox.

Manny Steward said he’s the hardest puncher he’s worked with and Freddie Roach has said he punches harder than Mike Tyson.

But Fury took it doe, has to be the dumbest reasoning yet to disregard the physics you're watching.

                I don't think so.

He is almost certainly up there but there but I don't think his competition or the HWs these days are really durable enough to get a proper gauge on it.

I don't think any of todays HWs have an ATG chin or even particularly great. Maybe Joyce but even then someone will crack it eventually with his non existent defense and it might not even take a puncher to do it.

The only one today I'd say had a truly great chin is Mariusz Wach, possibly Joyce.

None of the true elite seem to hold a punch all that well.

Top-5 power against cans and PBC bums for sure. But against decent boxers, he doesn't even hit as hard as AJ.
Lol, AJ fans are delusional and pathetic. Never seen anything like it

The first right hand in the 4th was the same kind of punch that sparked all those bums he beat. And just because they're bums in terms of boxing skill, they can't all have had bad chins. Lots of top heavyweights could (and do) fight people of the calibre Wilder was knocking over, and wouldn't get close to the number of KO's he has. I'm not a big fan of discrediting the opponent just because you don't like the winner.
I'm sure you saw Hunter's KO against the bum in his last fight.

If he were to fight 40 of those bums, would he become the biggest puncher in history?
