AJ vs Klitschko wasn’t an era defining fight. Everyone knew Wlad was completely finished, I mean just look at the facts, 41 years old, 18 months inactive, coming off a one sided loss. Wlad was on the slide when Fury dethroned him, he’d slid right to bottom by the time AJ got him.

Wilder has been in the more meaningful fights no doubt. AJ’s defining rivals are Fury and Wilder and sadly he’s fought neither.

But the Wilder v Fury trilogy isn't that exceptional. In reality it was a completely one sided contest from the first round of the first fight. There were a few moments for Wilder, but not a classic trilogy.

It's just better than what we're used to. Which points more to the current state of the sport than it does to the merit of this particular rivalry. And that's the point of this thread - boxing politics and strange ideas around 'marination' are causing us, fighters, and the sport to miss out on incredible events that define fighters and eras.

Definitely a classic trilogy. One of the best HW trilogies ever. Every fight was epic. Aside from Bowe-Holyfield, I can’t think of a better HW trilogy in the last 30 years.

It wasn’t one sided at all either, Wilder dropped him twice and buzzed him several times. Round 6 onwards Fury took over and it became a beat down but Wilder was very competitive in the first half of the fight.

What?????? What are you talking about?

What does Baldomir have to do with anything?

When was Floyd supposed to fight Vernon Forrest? Simple question mate. When were they ever in talks? When were they lined up as a possible match up?

Or is this just another case of you having no idea what you're talking about and throwing two names together that fought around the same time and claiming one of them ducked the other out of thin air like you did with Frazier and Patterson/Norton?

What was Wlad's ranking when he fought AJ? And he took no damage in the Fury fight.

Wilder's only meaningful fights are one-sided beatdowns by a cherrypick gone wrong. He was offered the AJ fight but turned it down because obese Fury who'd had a breakdown and addiction seemed the easier fight. Pathetic.

              He was unranked.

You've got Fury v Wlad as one sided but you think Fury V Wilder 3 was close.

That might be changing things to suit your argument. The Wlad fight came down to a series of close rounds and a handful of punches here and there.

Wilder dropped Fury twice. I don’t think Wlad even landed two clean punches.

Fury completely schooled Wlad. I had it very wide.
