    That's at least 3 quits.

He didn't quit in holyfield 1 but he was broken and scared

I wouldn't even mind so much if he didn't have this ferocious reputation but I get sick of the excuse making for Tyson and the fantasy land the Tyson fanboys live in.
Yes, that's what irks me as well.

Tyson wasn't indestructible - he was the real hype and media creation they claim AJ is. But a lot of his fans act like the man walked on water when he was active when he was found wanting in every big fight against elite fighters he was in.

"Oh, Tyson would've sparked everyone out in this era" - no, he won't. He was a limited one-dimensional boxer with a lot of flash.

The fact that he's still buying into the hype whilst not giving the current HWs the respect they deserve is troubling. He still want all the shine rather than stay where he's and enjoy life.

Prime Tyson would probably knock out Joshua in 30 seconds to a minute of the first round.

I could quote more "ferocious reputations" who lost a lot. If you think that a fighter should never lose a fight based on popular perception, you're on the wrong path.
Duran fought everyone and he's a small man that moved up many weight classes. When you fight everyone - you'd take losses.

Tyson didn't even fight a lot of boxers in his own era. And he folded against top-tier opponents.

Like he did Douglas and Mcbride.

He would take out AJ 100% but lose to Usyk in a 55/45 fight.

Take again Lewis. He fought perhaps three "name" opponents in his whole career. A shot Tyson, Holyfield and perhaps Vitali Klitschko, who came very close to defeating him. I'll even give you Ray Mercer, who arguably won that fight.

Then? Rahman beat him, McCall beat him. Bruno was close to beating him. What we're left with is Golota, Grant, Tua and so on.

His best moment is probably the Ruddock knockout. And Ruddock had already been softened by Tyson.

Namely, the same level of opponents Tyson destroyed in his prime. But Lewis is an ATG, and Tyson is an overrated bum. OK.

That was not prime Tyson, you rascal.

OK, Douglas almost was, I'll give you that.

You know what irks me instead?

That Tyson went to jail just before meeting Holyfield in 1991.

Tyson was scary under Richie Giachetti. He annihilated Alex Stewart in two minutes. The same Alex Stewart who had given Holyfield hell just months before.

Mike would have probably knocked out Evander then, and all the tedious "Holy vs Mike" debating seen on threads for decades would have never existed.

What you posted just shows the 90s were also overrated if some muppets think this era is overrated.

I'm not a Lennox groupie and I've always maintained the he was just as vulnerable as AJ. The only difference is that he linked up with Emanuel Steward when he needed to and he was smart for doing that. AJ only other hand who's a kid from peaceful Watford thinks he's Al Capone and he's always talking about loyalty to his amateur coach. Even Wlad had to leave everything in Ukraine to link up with Emanuel Steward.

Tyson was overrated af and he's not beating anyone who fought on Saturday or we can say 50/50. People need to stop acting like Tyson was indestructible boxer he never was in his prime.

Tyson was the first to admit he was not invincible. Not his fault if casuals depicted him like Superman.

At the end of the day, one can only attempt to be the best in his time. That's why I hate the comparisons between fighters from different decades.
