shane fought & beat margarito january of 09. its now september. he couldve had 2 fights by now vs berto, paul williams, cintron, or whoever & have had 2 paychecks, 2 possible great wins, a leg up on fighter of the year, stay current in boxing fans minds, & have major bargaining chips vs any big fighter.

Instead he remained inactive complaining about not getting fights & getting older. He completely killed all the momentum he had with that margarito victory & might have killed any semblance of a fanbase or the little notoriety he had to begin with.

He was so busy trying to get boxing rich fast by playing the pacquiao mr.counterfeit cash lotto instead of working for his money like a blue collar boxing professional.

Horrible career decision.

I agree with you. The writer told some truth, but why criticize him as if Shane hasn't fought everybody, and hasn't been on top since the ****ing 90s. This article could be applied to Berto or Floyd, but not Shane, no way no how. Also other than money there is no bigger legacy fight at 147 than a fight with Shane. I'll take a close loss that could have gone your way and a dominant KO ass kicking win over a razor thin win and a KO loss to determine who is better any day.

Yes Shane ****ed up when he said he was only looking for big money fights. It's just certain things you don't say. But he will get his chance. If blacks supported boxing in America like Mexicans, Pinoy's and Ricans. He would be in a different position. No doubt in my mind about that. Even though Shane is my favorite fighter along with Floyd, Jones, Tito, and Leonard. Shane could've mad $12 mill in a 3rd fight with Hoya but instead fought Winky. He also could have faced Tito. But instead of facing a tuneup fighter, he went on to face Winky. That's a big money fight also. He could've faced Floyd in 06. But I do believe dropping that weight and the timing couldn't have let that fight happen.

Jin Mosley messed up 3 big money fights for him. All are three fights he could've won. Also with the Cotto fight. He should have made Cotto and Margo fight each other first. He should've never fought Cotto at MSG, HBO looking for a new star, and being undefeated. Of couse everything Cotto throws the crowd is going to scream.

But like I said Shane is going to get his chance soon.

That was the dumbest thing he could of said. Now he's talking
about nobody wants to fight him because their looking for other
BIG MONEY fights. Shane problem is that he thinks too highly
of himself when he is put against other fighters. He wants to
be the man in negotiations with the guy who is the man! Shane
offering Floyd $8MiL was not a serious offer considering Floyd
was retired and coming off of two of the biggest paydays in
his whole career.
