So neither are going to get a title fight any time soon? Then why would Whyte fight him then at this point? Beat him, you don't get any credit for it. Lose, then the extremists will be all over the place and frothing at the mouth. At this point, Whyte needs the most proven fighter who isn't tied up. Hrgovic isn't one of them. Hunter and Hrgovic need the fight because neither have done anything at the weight yet. Whyte isn't in that boat.

Hunter has no right to call out anyone unless it's filip hrgovic.
He cowardly ducked and now wants to flap his gums.Comment

Sorry I mean Rivas, that was a lapsus on my side.
Parker is not a very fast boxer, but it showed a better technique in the match.
Imo Whyte wins only if he can ko his opponent, otherwise loses by most contenders.Comment

Good response. As I've said, I like Hunter but it's not going to get in the way of me trying to be impartial, whatever slight bias I may have (as we all do) will only extend to me trying to see things from his angle.
1) Genuine mistake in the spelling with Triller. I'm not a child who tries to take swipes at any platform unless it's justified. I have no problem with Triller at this point for me to have any real opinion on them.
2) They did pay a hell of a lot of money for the Teo fight. But that's with world titles on the line at world level. Hunter has none of those things. He's fighting opponents that are legitimately no marks. It does nothing for their platform, nor does it do anything for Hunter's ranking. In fact, with him turning the mandatory fight down, he's been removed from the top 15.
So you think the ******ity Hunter is coming out with is true about Triller backing out for their fighter because Hearn told them to? Why would they do so? It wouldn't make any sense for them if they had more money to put up than Hearn.
3) I just like truth. Nothing more, nothing less. If people have genuine gripes with fighters because of something they've said or done, then point that out within the context of that discussion. But if it's just madness because Dillian made Wilder shlt himself like the coward he is, then it's just bitterness on their part.
I do think Triller either offered more than what he would have made with the eliminator OR offered enough that he viewed it as the preferable option. As for his claim about Triller telling him the bid was rigged, I doubt that's how it went down but I do think he feels like there were shenanigans (even if he's wrong). Boxing is a dirty game and for whatever reason he seems to dislike Matchroom quite a bit these days. There's definitely bad blood.
Early in Hunter's career he took on alot of tough fights and since the Povetkin draw, he's gone a different route. He seems very sensitive to the business side of boxing. Not sure what (I'd anything) happened to change his behavior.
People like to throw around the term "duck" if a fighter chooses not to fight another. I don't think many ducks actually happen, most of these guys (at a certain level in the sport) have a high belief in themselves. What often is perceived as a duck is just a risk/reward determination. Just because you believe you can beat a guy doesn't mean you just take a fight.
I'm just here on NSB because I like boxing and like to discuss it, learn things and I try to add a bit of nuance to the discourse. I've defended AJ, Fury, Whyte and many other fighters in discussion threads.

Do you think it's better for Whyte to fight Arreola or Franklin, than Hunter or Hrgovic?

Fair enough. Look... I get it about judging. Jimmy Young what's discriminated against by judges and probably won fights against Norton and Ali... it's frustrating.
Oh wait, you think Parker actually beat Whyte? That's actually a thing? No he didn't. Same as the weirdo's who think Rivas beat Whyte when he was dominated from start to finish.
And i didn't say fighters are bad based on where they come from. They're bad based on whether they duck or slander someone innocent to build their name off them like a vulture while pretending they're willing to fight everyone when they're clearly not. Plant is the one playing the game the most at the minute in using the plan to build his name by associating his with Canelo. He'll then fight his bums and make claim he's a real fighter looking for the best. It's embarrassing.
To dispute Americans ducking fights left right and centre would be either a lie, or pure delusion. Pick one.
I don't know whether most fighters in the US are world class or not because they're not willing to prove it when fights are on offer. I wouldn't go as far as to call them bums, just that i don't know what they have. It's nothing but hype and slight of hand. I've even pointed out to you what Americans and Mexicans have been pulling for quite some time now with all their opponents being vulnerable for one reason or another. They're carefully selected for this purpose. Those odds are not a coincidence. They're intentionally picked for that reason.
History will be kind to Whyte when this fight gets reviewed many moons later.Comment

I don`t believe anything Hunter says because I remember him claiming how he wants to fight Hrgovic.Comment

So he turned down a title shot so he could wait longer for a title shot? Lmfao. Crazy guy is Dillian. He basically claimed Eddie and Josh lowballed him. Wonder which one is the truth.Comment

You was on a roll until here. Joshua ain’t fighting no man without a rematch clause. Even the fury fight had to be a two fight deal. That cannot be Whyte masterplan. I think Eddie lowballed him just like Whyte alluded too. Aj and Eddie cherry picked Ruiz and it blew up spectacularly!!
Yeah it's a good point, but I think the grand plan was to get to Wilder, then go for AJ in a unification. He also didn't want to fight AJ as his voluntary as that means beating him twice and as we saw with Ruiz, that's not an easy task. So he wanted to get the WBC belt then fight AJ from a much stronger bargaining position.Comment
