Why did JEFF HORN do such a good job against Pacquiao?

Manny probably underestimated him, plus horn put in the performance of his career. Fight was close but talks of a robbery are a bit silly.

      Obviously, numbers mean nothing
If numbers were everything then let Boxrec have the job. What the fanboys ignore is Horn's aggression as a significant factor, you could see the arrogance of Packy at the beginning, I'll just let this bloke come forward and pick him off when I feel like it. But then it got serious, Packy's attempt at a KO failed and he had nothing left, Horn won the last three rounds.

I mean, just look at this absolutely dirty, illegal shot Horn landed against a completely untouched Manny

        zu2AvTw.jpg

It was just such a robbery that Roach after the fight told Manny to, "rematch Horn or RETIRE!".

You can get footage of any great fighter getting hit with a punch. It’s boxing, getting punched happens. It’s literally the only way to get points.

All anyone “witnessed” was Horn’s face getting battered for 12 rounds. Including the referee, who warned Horn to stop catching such a beating or else he will wave the fight off.

It is very rare to see a fighter getting a decision win despite getting beat up so badly that the ref was gonna stop the fight to save him from extra damage.

That was a highway robbery, hometown cooking at its finest. Horn won, at most, 2 maybe 3 rounds. That would have been a big fat L on neutral grounds. People can pretend Horn deserved the win but footage and his face say otherwise

If you think about it, that was Pacquiao’s fault that he “lost”. He put himself in that situation while being the A-side. He should have called the shots and pick a neutral venue. He was robbed and that is his fault.

That's actually not a bad idea. They would have gotten it right and there would be no controversy.

Silly numbers.....that tend to favor the winner in only 99 % of ALL fights. We should ban those digits and go by which guy is the least effective unless they are being dirty !

Arrogance, unpreparedness, visiting hype job.....call Pac what you want. He should have won the fight. And what everyone has ignored is, had those silly numbers favored Horn and Pac WON, the protests would still be raging on. I know this to be true since NSBers cry about how someone has received a hometown decision.

Aussie ROBBING Pac gets a pass

Do you dispute the punch stats ?

And it wasn't even that good of a punch. Pac didn't even blink

I'm the biggest Pac hater (or so I thought) and there is no way in hell a person can justify that decision.

Pacquaio looked like he didn't take the fight seriously. It was the most out of shape and old looking I have seen him. Combine that with the fact that he was fighting a bigger, rough dude and the result was what it was. He still should have gotten the W though.

Pac is very faded. He’s fought some well selected names that didn’t have much left. The last few years have been smoke and mirrors.

He only beat Thurman who was shot to bits by injuries and had almost just been knocked out by Josesito Lopez.

Beat Broner who hasn’t won a meaningful fight in years and is done, as we saw when he arguably just lost to a Puerto Rican journeyman.

Then Matthysse who was on the verge of retirement and had been whooped by Postol.

And despite that, he still has the better 147lb resume of the current top 10 welters. Dating back to 2016 through 2021, Pacquiao still owns the best resume. All of these young and hyped welters like Crawford are beating bum after bum and getting praised for it even though Pacquiao has the better wins in the last 5 years.
