Highest ATG Ranking Achievable in Modern Boxing

From recent active fighters, only Pacquiao and Mayweather are in serious contention in any respectable top 20 ATG list.

Holding fighters today in the past era's standard is ******. Saying that fighters from the past are better because they fought more is not being objective

Julio Cesar Chavez had over a hundred wins. Does anyone think JCC is better ATG wise than Floyd or Pac?

Just because old school fighters fought more doesn't necessarily mean they are better.

This is why ATG lists are pretty silly. It is all very subjective.

Boxers used to be HUNGRY back then. Losing/Being inactive meant a death sentence for a boxer who didn't give it his all.

They had that Xtra gear. I mean just look at this last weekend? Charlo has the size, chin, and skill but he fights lazy...

Actually I think it's only a matter of time TBH. I'll use Greb as an example.

How long can Greb be overrated is more in how long can Greb be mysterious and keep up ignorant automatic responses. Eventually his story will be an open book and more people will have more variant in their opinion.


What I mean to say is, as a history fan I roll with a few crowds of researchers. Like none of us, none, just simply agree with consensus history across the board. It is un-****ing-natural for everyone on the planet to review Harry Greb's career and all agree he was so, so, so, great that a dude like Pac could never exceed him. So, for Greb to be so touted as he is I reckon a lot of people here, in a current boxing setting, just pop open a tab and look at who consensus ranks as greats then go about repeating it because they feel safe because they have a wealth of articles and glowing reviews to fall back on.

Youse can lie to me but I can get a feel for your level just by the **** you say. Most of NSB has never once read a Greb primary source.


Look at Wilder, Fury, and Joshua. Basically every major outlet will claim there's a top 3 in the HW division and Wilder is part of that, BUT, since fans know Wilder real, real, real well they have their own opinions that cannot be swayed by the media consensus. Plenty of people here reckon Deontay isn't anything special and is wasting the division's time holding up a position he isn't skilled or talented enough to hold.

Take ANY current fighter and look at how much variety there is in opinions about that current fighter. No one enjoys as much ****geneous thought or opinion as ye olden ****s, and, that's only true when you talk to kids who don't actually read newspapers and ****. Pop over History section or better yet connect with the CBZ/IBRO boys and have a chat about guys you're used to seeing only praised. You'll get a whole variety of responses.




If I tell y'all Dempsey's resume was **** I'll get people arguing because they don't know any better. Come to history and they will justify why it's a bit **** not at all try to sell you on the idea Billy Miske was a worth a **** title contender but rather Billy was the guy Jack could fight at the time and earn some money.

If I tell y'all Tunney's not even a good LHW champion I'll get argument here in NSB because NSB looks at stuff like "Greatest LHWs of all time". In History they will say quit ****ing around Marche because they know I know Tunney was never LHW champion. Doesn't matter how good he was at LHW, he was never LHW champion, he's not a great LHW champion.


Once **** like that is more known these old gods will be making room for the new gods. Right now bitches here will argue whose a better LHW champ, Spinks or Tunney, but, I just gave you the answer. Spinks, cuz Tunney ain't no champ. Ain't no argument to be had actually.
